Alternatives to Kik

I'm looking for a discreet messaging app I can use.
Is Kik still the best one to use?

I need to be able to hide it on my phone and turn off all notifications.

Depending on how paranoid one wants to be about these things, Discord is not the safest, in particular when it comes to sharing media.

Also, Brave chat but invariably I am the only one who uses it or has even heard of it.

Signal is the best imo. They deliver the messages and delete it off their servers.

Discord is good but the messages remain on their servers.

Never tried Kik but heard a lot of bots on there.

Telegram is buggy, sometimes you get the notifications of new messages and sometimes you don't. Plus you have to noodle around in the settings to hide your # (that should be the default imo)
Also telegram can only end to end encrypt messages that are in a "secret chat" and then secret chats are limited to just the chats with two people only. So if you are in a group chat in telegram your messages are NOT end to end encrypted.

@Hornymwtxn I haven’t used signal here but do use it in other places. It’s a good platform.

I'd think twice about using Telegram.

Have a look at Threema or Matrix.
