Almost Famous = Zeppelin?

Um are we talking about the band, Someones SN, what? I am confused. If we are talking about the band I dont think they count as almost famous at all, they were one of the greatest rock bands ever

It's a Zep/Allman brothers hybrid to protect the guilty with plausible deniability.

I'm thinking she is referring to the ficticious band in the movie being a metaphor for LED ZEP.... okay that was sorta english.

Allrighty I got it now. It could very well be in the movie, but I cant say for sure.

It was based on a number of bands from the directors own experiences - Zep was one of them... especially the "Golden God" bit...

Dilly, yes, the Golden God part was straight out of Hammer of the Gods.

Patient1, thank you. That clarifies it.

Ok, I want to be a rock star now. Well, no, I want to have been a rock star in the 60s and 70s, back when things were safe. :)

the golden god bit, the underage groupie thing, the crazed antics on the road. even robert plant commented on the guitar player character to cameron crowe, " i know that guy! i mean i used to live with him. you got him just right!" any guesses as to who "that guy" is. none other than the dark lord of the les paul himdself, jimmy page. i think almost famous is very very much about zeppelin.

when you think about it, the names have been changed and the events cleaned up a bit to protect the not so innocent. god they must've had a hell of a lot of fun.

I agree because they took a great deal out of the book. The one that really got me was "Rock Star" I swear, they lifted everything right out of "Hammer of the Gods" even the tv smashing on the sidewalk bit.

It's a mixture of different real life bands, but the band that Cameron Crowe actually went out on the road with when he was still in high school was the Allman Brothers.

ever notice that robert plant tends to deny all of the big bad blimp's antics while page has never said word one either way? it's a shame that they suffered so many problems though.
