I don’t not. I was a pretty devoted Laker fan throughout most of my life. And a big college football fan for a while. But the second time I bought a jersey for me or my daughter to wear for someone that turned out to be a rapist or domestic abuser I decided I really didn’t need to devote my money or energy to rooting for a buncha millionaires behaving badly. My weekends are much calmer as a result. And I rarely have my Mondays ruined because someone missed an easy point. So there’s that

But I do understand the appeal and sometimes miss the camaraderie. And I’ll always hate SF and Boston teams (and fuck Notre Dame and Michigan too)

This is unfortunate. This kind of an oversimplification in a feigned attempt at ignorance to try and act better than others is insulting to both your intelligences and mine.

Well I definitely only watch football for the rapists and domestic abusers and damn I am glad that only basketball (which I don't watch so I'm clearly morally superior) and football have horrible people involved.

We should all be aware of where we put our money and not just for our daughters. Idolization is dangerous.

This is great. I am truly happy for you. The outcome of a game should not hold that much power.

Call out what you don't like-absolutely and do the work to make change and making financial decisions is one fantastic way to do it but judging others, even when disguised as a joke, doesn't move any of the conversations forward.

this was a typo. I do not call it that.. Like what you like. I absolute don’t judge others for liking sports. I just don’t and was explaining my reasons. I understand there’s no consumption free of horror, and everyone draws their lines where they will.

The first couple of times I saw it I thought it was okay - LOL - but I'm not really a game player, so I am not going to bother hovering over every emoji just on the off chance there's an image behind it.

Lit has long taught me not to click on blind links.

Some people appear to enjoy it though, so more power to them.
