Tommy Flanagan had just taken a job in a brand new city. He was embarking on the next chapter of his life. Moving on was something Tommy never had a problem with. He had left high school and his hometown to attend a college 1,500 miles away, where he quickly made good friends and thrived. During four semesters of college, Tommy had studied abroad in the British Isles, China, and Turkey. He had loved every place but didn't feel too bad that he left. He was daring and loved to try new things.
Familiarity is something Tommy didn't have problem with either. After studying abroad, he always returned back to college and picked up with his good friends right where they left off. After he graduated with honors in Economics, Tommy took a job back in his hometown at a local firm. Like most things, he thrived and shot his way up the company attracting attention from headhunters across the country. He even reunited with an old high school girlfriend and had gotten pretty serious with her. They would have probably gotten married, but she wanted to settle down and Tommy kept wanting to experience new things. So, bittersweetly they broke it off, but it was probably for the best, because a few weeks later Tommy got a job offer in a city 300 miles away.
The new city wasn't very far from home, but it was far enough to be somewhat isolated. Tommy had a couple of friends from high school and college who had been working there for a couple of years. He also had some family in the new city, his aunt.
He hadn't known his aunt too well. She lived in that city for most of his life, when he was twelve, her and her husband had moved into Tommy's hometown. He loved being around her. He was attracted to her personality and thought she was quite pretty. He had developed a boyhood crush, one of those you don't take too seriously, if it had been on a teacher, a friend's mother, or even a family member. However, a secret Tommy kept was as he got older and went through puberty, his attraction toward his aunt had turned sexual. She moved back to Tommy's new city just a few years later when Tommy was fifteen. Tommy didn't see her much after, a couple of thanksgiving holidays, but with Tommy jet setting around the world, he couldn't attend most holidays. She hadn't seen him as the man he had grown into. He chalked up the sexual feelings toward his aunt as her being his childhood crush just before he entered the confusing state of puberty. At 26, Tommy was sure he wouldn't have those feelings.
His aunt had gone through some tough times recently and now no longer had a husband. After he got settled in the new city, he gave her a call and planned on paying her a visit to see if she needed any help. At that moment on a Friday afternoon, Tommy had left work and was arriving at his aunt's house.
