I don't claim to know much about art or festivals, for that matter. I do know what I like! I wonder what a ticket to Portugal would cost?
Portuguese town celebrates all things chocolate
LISBON (AFP) - Chocolate shoes, jewellery, statues and even a solid chocolate replica of the Egyptian pyramids were on display at a festival dedicated to the sweet in all its forms which got underway in Portugal.
Around 200,000 people are expected to flock to Obidos, a medieval walled town of whitewashed houses and bright bougainvillea located some 70 kilometres (40 miles) north of Lisbon, during the six-day event, organizers said.
This year the theme of the annual festival, now in its third edition, is world capitals.
The centerpiece of the exhibit is a two-metre (six-foot) high chocolate sculpture of Moscow's onion-domed Saint Basil's Cathedral in Red Square.
Visitors can also marvel at a chocolate copy of Cairo's Great Sphynx, as well as chocolate versions of Lisbon's trams and the Aztec ruins found near Mexico City.
In total over 80 items made from chocolate, dubbed by some "the food of the gods", are on display, including rings, necklaces and hats.
The event will include exhibits on the history of chocolate, courses on how to cook with the cocoa derivative, a chocolate recipe contest, as well as wine and chocolate tasting sessions.
