All things British

Anyone planning on watching Fanny Hill on Monday night? Must say, in my less than healthy self, the quick shorts of caning and bare bottoms sparked my mood for the better for a couple of seconds as it flashed on the screen last night. :cathappy:

I had a lovely day out today.

The sun was shining it was warm and just a hint of a breeze.

A friend and I went to Constable Country.

No, Not a place full of policemen in shiny helmets....

Nor to Midsommer to see Inspector Barnaby

But to where the painter Constable painted The Haywain.

It was beautiful, really idyllic and quintessentially English.

We walked a couple of miles along the river from Dedham to Flatford Mill

It was perfect.

For lovers of England, on a sunny day, this is a really lovely place to see.

Amazing to think I have lived in East Anglia for almost 18 years but had never been here!

I should be ashamed of myself!!

Oh man... now more than ever, I want to come back . I swear.. something I ate or drank during my trip to England in 2006 burrowed into me and claimed part of me... I never expected to love England as much as I did but I do... it feels like home, which is weird because I'd never been there before but it was all so familiar and right. I cant wait to go again and bring Malin with me

Let me know when, I always enjoy meeting people and I love playing tour guide.

Why do you think it feels familiar? Past life or something else?

I'm on my way down.. You can show me the sights! ;)

'On my way down' could mean so many things here in Lit.

But I am presuming you mean you will come to Suffolk, not heading down 'there,' because if it is the latter all you will get is a heafty slap lol

And I thought you liked me... *sulks*

You should be very ashamed :)

I live nearby and spent many a wonderful childhood day on the river with a picnic.

I live in Lincolnshire, one of the best places in England I think.

Lincoln is a beautiful town with ALOT of cultural aspects to enjoy.

If you ever come my way, let me know! :p

LOL, after just watching the hilarious interview on Jonathon Ross with David Walliams and Matt Lucas, I cannot wait to see Little Britain USA next Friday. I swear they both are doing so many other things professionally, it amazes me they can keep going!:D

It amazes me that they still make people laugh to be honest... It might just be me, but I found little britain to be boring some time ago. I like Matt Lucas, but walliams just annoys me when I see him on something now.

BLASPHEMY!

Little Britain rocks the kasbah.

I love it!

Character comedies like that I just don't find funny... For me it just gets too tired too quickly. I mean a woman who wets herself, or one who just throws up, or the "bitty" sketch... I could never laugh at that :p

Some of them are a bit meh, but others are fantastic!

Sebastian, the PM's aid his hilarious and how Anthony Head keeps a straight face during that is beyond me.

I must admit.. I did find it funny to begin with.... now the idea has been hammered to death... I guess they just made the show go on too much..
