All that glitters

apart from my loathesome compulsion to fixate on pores, particularly black heads;

trypophobia is a thing.

Trigger warning: DO NOT run a google image search for that.

Lovecraft would be inspired.

:eek:
SHIT!

there is a long history of people tattooing their own or other's horrors on themselves.

There are several motivations for it. Escapism from beauty and shallowness. Defiance against being told what you can and cannot do with your body, bizarre self image issues... for the lolz...

Skulls, reapers, snakes, spiders, corpses, tentacles, violence, BDSM, sex, bestiality, rape... anything anyone has ever feared or detested can be found tattooed all over some person or another.... and stories persist of vulgar tattoos causing all manner of desirable reactions, from fainting to rage...

But trypophobia triggering tattoos may be the first generation of horror tattoo's found to occasionally cause unwary observers to vomit before they start shrieking, fainting or whatever else is on the menu.

so seriously... tread carefully; there be monsters.

This is so far off my radar. I googled tryphobia tattoos -- a lot seemed photoshopped, but a lot were really gross and weird. But why vomiting, shrieking and fainting? Because of the phobia??
