Start it out with all these terror stories about cops being killed in record numbers. Most of it stems from Mexican drug cartels and problems that happen sporadically throughout the country. News outlets and 24 hour media coverage, in need of ratings to legitimize their reason for existing blow these up for ratings. Police officers around the country are now more cautious and have defensive of their lives...

African Americans and other ethnicities, hearing that cops are shooting people "for nothing" now trust our public safety officials even less creating a backlash... Like those relationships were anywhere near luke warm to begin with.

As for the National Guard going in to protect public interest? Holy fucking shit!? Could you imagine the images of armed soldiers standing guard and enforcing a martial law type rule down there? Yeah... That would fucking look just all grand and dandy on the front page of the NY Times and on CNN/FoxNews, etc...

Hope is not a real commodity you can sell. In the context you mean it is snake oil. What has a speech by any of those guys ever improved quality of life in any neighborhood? Those guys with bullhorns in front of some corporate headquarters? They simply get paid to go away, and the race-based organization's leaders pocket the money.

The gentrification projects you speak of are real, actual redevelopment. Those are sometimes able to utilize Federal money, but usually not. If it is an area that is appealing to upscale people of all colors it is not going to be in a designated zone. You would not know (nor would I) the areas so designated unless you look them up. They are so designated usually because someone's brother-in-law owns some tenements there. The money is doled out, no rehab is actually done and the crooks pocket the difference.

When you see actual construction dumpster and workman, that is probably not Federal dollars.

The federal government isn't even supposed to be doing this shit. Everyone is screaming for it to take care of these problems despite the fact that it wasn't designed or implemented to remedy these situations. It is, in fact, the states task to improve it infrastructure and enforce these things.

The only reason the federal government has to move it's hands on the issue at all is because A LOT of the states where there are major racial issues took these rulings and mandates as opportunities to be racist as shit until the race movements of the 60's and 70's.

As far as poverty pimping goes, hell yeah it's a lucrative industry... Money making and political in nature.

In reality though, this help has to come internally in order or change to happen.
