I am further north and west of NC, in the southern part of IL just outside of Kentucky and Missouri. The poor souls further south have already taken a beating the last few weeks. I really hope they are able to pull through without much more loss.

Lots of wild weather here Friday and Saturday: huge thunderstorms and really windy. We were lucky though: didn't even lose power. Gracias for asking, Chippy.

Still hanging around....

Thankfully for us, the cold front moved in quickly pushing the storms to the south of us.....

Still all in one piece! Raleigh, which is northeast of us, had terrible damage from tornadoes, with several killed, so we are very lucky. We had lots of strong storms over the weekends but did not even lose power (unlike some of our neighbors).

I have been answering calls and email from ee's family all afternoon, so it is good to know you all love us. :D

You know we do:) I'm still waiting to hear from other LIt friends in NC.

Those mountains nearby are good for something besides pretty views. I heard the eastern part of your state, closer to the ocean and flat, had at least 90 confirmed tornados and quite a few fatalities.

Me love you? Never.

Now there might be some sense of obligation and caring for the big guy...

Thank you and so good to see you back here again!

We did consider that we'd be somewhat safer from wild weather if we were in the mountains as opposed to the flatlands. Than again we would not have moved to anywhere flat here in the south. Both of us had lived in that type of area before (eagleyez lived in Gainesville, FL for many years and I spend summers with my granparents near Miami when I was a kid), and we knew we did not want to live in that kind of climate again--ever. We really wanted to move to this specific area for many reasons, but being up in these mountains was the main one.

Me love you? Never.

I'll let him know. :p

Anyway I love you whether you love me back or not. So there!

Were just a little further north than you are. I always wondered if there were any locals round here.

Did u survive last night? We are still without power and picking up a bit of debris other than that we're still here!

Were good, thanks for askin! We ended up with some tree limbs down in the back yard, and we had thought it best to bring the dog in. Her dog house blew across the yard. I am thankful that the storm wasnt as powerful as it seemed. We had 69 mph winds, which are pretty strong and the cable was knocked out for the first part of the day. I hope the recovery is quick down around LoE.

typical weather for these parts

Thanks Chip for being concerned... Possibly more bad weather heading our way!
Glad to hear all is well Popcorn. Our electric just popped back on... Yeah

I think that we got off lucky compared to folks down south. The thing that seemed to make the storm less powerful was the fact that while it was warm here... the temperatures weren't above the 85 degree mark which seems to be kind of the thresh hold for the foulest weather here in southern IL. I am really hoping our luck holds out.
