All I need

Well, since size isn't an issue I assume weight isn't either, so number 1 would be my portable safe that contains all the stories/poems/etc that I've ever written.

the rest, in no particular order:

2. my box of "special/favorite" books
3. cd holder (it has ten cds in it, but it's one holder, so that counts as one thing right?)
4. my grandfather's miniature bulletproof bible
5. um... i guess my camera? or my laptop. they could both be replaced, tho.

I've been letting this thread grow a little before throwing in my $0.02.

For me:

My glasses
Library card
Computer
My sleeping pillow
A fully-loaded 32GB iPod

Yeah, those would pretty much do me.

1) My glasses
2) My phone
3) My computer, and that means the mac mini in this case. My laptops are more useful on the move, but that box has more useful data right now.
4) My backpack with my gear in/on it.
5) My pants, as they will have my keys, wallet, a knife, multi-tool, etc

The last one is only halfway cheating. It's been a loooong-established habit of mine to leave my everyday carried items attached to my pants or shorts when I take them off. That way, if I am woken up in the middle of the night, I've got a fair chunk of the kit I need ready to be grabbed and slipped on easily.

And having my keys means having access to my truck and all the gear stowed in it.

1. I have a box with important papers..
2. My computer, because it's expensive.
3. My jewelry, esp. the ring my Mom gave me. (sentimental and it's a tangible connection to her)
4. My paints, canvas, and brushes. . . they keep my sane, although the are all replaceable, I already have my favorites chosen brands and items.
5. as much clothes as possible; again, i'm fussy and I'd hate to search all over again for my favorites

*I'm assuming we all have our wallets and cell phones.*

1. Lip Gloss
2. Books
3. A car that runs
4. Shelter that is a home
5. A cat or is that not allowed?

If not allowed:

My lap top.

FF

:rose:

1) my collar
2) my mobile phone
3) letters and cards from my A.
4) photoalbum of my kids
5) all my 7 Harry Potter books

Don't give a damn about my comp cuz it's an old piece of crap that barely works. lol

rather old school,

1. All my writings ( maybe kept in one of those huge rubbermaid totes?)
2. An endless supply of sharpened pencils
3. An endless supply of paper, writing and sketching both
4. The knife my father gifted me
5. Lap top - for information, education and MUSIC.

1. photo albums
2. legal documents
3. painting i did in '01
4. old sketchbooks
5. quilt made by a friend who passed away

I've lived the last year with most of my life packed in boxes on an accidentally extended sabbatical of sorts. I am definitely keeping the minimalist approach when I finish moving to my new state. Even though I took very little with me when I left my old life a year ago, I still want to cut my current possessions in half.

Here's what I would have to take today:

1. Netbook and its modem (they are in one bag, so I'm counting them as one)
2. Flash drives of business and personal financial documentation
3. My camera
4. My toys (again stored in one bag, so I'm counting them as one)
5. Um....let's see....gosh having a hard time....my Starbucks venti travel mug because I made a rule for myself that I can no longer purchase drinks (at Starbucks or else where) without a reusable mug in hand.

Wow. I need to remember this list and stop freaking out about packing. Who really needs stuff? (okay, maybe I really need my toys since most of them are new...)

1. Bicycle...the titanium frame, Campy Record 10 bike.
2. Bike gear bag
3. iPod
4. Computer
5. Cell

Everything else can be replaced. The bike could be replaced too, I guess, but I'm attached to it.

1. My laptop
2. My external hard-drive
3. My autographed posters
4. My notebook with my latest work and writing in it
5. My passport
