I did attend a memorial service sponsored by the local fire department last night. In my town, the fire fighters are volunteers.
We wept. We sang. We felt damm proud. Every day these men place their lives and health on the line for those of us who find ourselves in times of hardship. As we have seen in recent days, when they enter a burning building or a disaster site, they are also placing their families needs behind the needs of those in trouble.
God Bless Them All.....Firefighters, Policemen and their families.
I knew a man, called him Sandy Cane.
Few folks even knew his name.
But a hero, yes was he.
Left a boy, came back a man.
Still many just don't understand
about the reasons we are free.
I can't forget the look in his eyes,
or the tears he cried,
as he said these words to me.
All gave some and some gave all.
Some stood through for the red, white and blue,
and some had to fall.
And if you ever think of me,
think of all your liberties, and recall,
some gave all.
Now, Sandy Cane is no longer here.
But his words are oh so clear
as they echo throughout our land.
and all his friends who gave us all,
who stood the ground and took the fall
to help their fellow man.
Love your country and live with pride
and don't forget those who died.
America, can't you see
All gave some and some gave all.
Some stood through for the red, white and blue,
and some had to fall.
And if you ever think of me,
think of all your liberties, and recall,
some gave all.

There is a remix of this that is a tribute to those who died in the last attack on the USS Cole.
Thank you, MG5. I'm not much of a fan of his, but that song is SO patriotic. I think it expresses how we AL Lfeel about our fellow men that sacrific their lives for or freedom.
