I've been doing some reading on former Paraguayan dictator, the late General Alfredo Stroessner.

Despite a few mistakes that his government made such as some unfortunate human rights abuses, when judged on the whole I think he was a good leader who did much to advance his country economically and keep it save from the ravages of Marxism, as well as promoting patriotic pride in the country's unique culture and the local Guarani language. Paraguay's economy seems to be worse now than when Stroessner was in office.

Admiration for former dictators seems to be the Litcon flavor of the month.

Next, somebody will post an Italian train schedule.

It could be an interesting conversation if anybody cared. I suspect there are a few Latin American countries that undoubtedly came out ahead when all was said and done.

Massacres, slavery, genocide and torture all so that multinationals could take the land from the indigenous people. Doesn't surprise me the righties like him.

Oh those pesky "unfortunate human rights abuses."

so renard thinks genocide, murder, torture, " dissapearing people" are just unfortunate... just as long as foreign multinationals can find tax havens and rape natural resources
