The state of Alabama noticed the YUGE discrepancy in the number of voters who vote in presidential election years vs. non-presidential election years. Specifically, the number of minority voters dropped off tremendously in non-presidential election years.

So what did they do?

Effective January 1st, 2025, all city, county and state official elections will be held in "off-cycle" non-Presidential election years.

The populace in America may be shifting to white folks in the minority by 2040 or so, so Alabama is taking pro-active steps to assure the continuance of the aging white patriarchy in state and local government positions.

HumpDayHoratio is competing with moHOmo and Wat for the “Repetitive Use of Moronic Memes” trophy. 😄

Or maybe HumpDay is just Wat’s black face alt? Who knows.
Possibly... but does anyone care? It seems all of them are lost memes. Indeed, their commentaries are just as irrelevant as the possibility of being alts of each other.

Are their any studies showing the actually-voting electorate is whiter in off-years?

In my burb, city council elections are in the odd years, between presidential years and midterms.

I don't know if there are any studies on the racial makeup of off-year elections, but there's been plenty of research on AGE related turnout....and the geriatric "I watch Fox 10 hours a day" demographic turns out in droves (It's not like they have anything else better to do).

And as we all know, old folks tend to vote disproportionately conservative, because those goddam kids won't stay off their lawns.
