Free Iraqi citizens chased a flim crew out of Basrah today.

The crew was let into Kuwait by the Kuwaiti government who did it to keep them from getting killed.

It seems the Iraqis felt that the Al Jazeera film crew lied in its news reports and supported Saddam.

It's news stories like this and the pictures of jubilant Iraqi citizens in Bagdhad that gave me an interesting idea.

What if this war and the removal of Iraq actually improves the relationship between the US and the Arab world?

What if the Arab world finally stops believing the tons of anti-US propoganda being fed to them by their governments, media and mosques?

Wouldn't that be something!

It has the potential to do just that. Time will tell.

I doubt the rest of the Arab world will see anything but the anti-American propaganda that they have always seen. I doubt the newspapers will change their coverage either. It will be hard to hide the Iraqis bad feelings toward the countries that didn't want to support their liberation.

I wonder if the Arab world will end up hating Iraq as much as they do the West, especially once they see the freedoms they gain after the war. I hope it turns out improving relations though.

Al Jazeera is nothing more than a propaganda tool for Arab governments to continously remind their populations how oppressed they are and how evil the Americans are.

Governments like Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, etc. have cause to worry, for the Americans appear to be on the side of the people for once.

Eventually, word will reach the rest of the arab world, although it may take a while. The problem is that most arab media is extremely anti-US and this is sanctioned and even encouraged by their governments (especially our allies in Saudi Arabia and Egypt) as a means to deflect their anger away from their citizens lack of rights and their lack of educational and economic opportunities. This has been one of the reasons for the continued focus that these governments have on focusing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. If the people are focused on events outside their borders, they won't be looking at their own lives.

The real hope is that if a successful democracy of some type is installed, and the Iraqi people and country prosper, then other arab people will want it too.

Iraqi exhiles in Michigan shouted down an Arab reporter from Al Jazeer, proclaiming the station as spreading lies. I'm glad this station is finally being exposed for the bias, anti-American piece of shit station it is.

You know what I keep hearing and reading, Zip? No WMD have yet been found and some schmuck on NPR said that if they are not found we will have "lost all credibilty."

My question is this one: Is it not enough that we went in and stopped the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocents by this evil man and his regime?

I think yes, it is.

I have a slightly different opinion on finding WMD there. I think it is great if we do, but not it is not necessary.

All we wanted was proof that they were destroyed. As Saddam wouldn't provide that proof, it became necessary for us to go in and validate this ourselves.

While it would be great to find them, I think it will take time to do it.

I have a feeling that many things are about to be uncovered and discovered about Saddam's Iraq. I suspect things that are well hidden now will be pointed out in due time, including his WMDs.

I think we are just about to begin to hear the real horrors that Saddam put his people through over the past decade, from the Iraqis themselves. It will be very interesting to see how the Arab world reacts. It will be even more interesting to see how those countries that were against the war react as well.
