"...For the second time in four years, former Vice President Al Gore's son has been arrested on charges of possessing marijuana in his car.

Al Gore III, 24, was driving a blue Toyota Prius on the San Diego Freeway at about 100 mph at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday morning when a sheriff's deputy stopped him at the Crown Valley Parkway exit, said Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department..."

The lascivious left continues with the debauchery life style so addictive to Democrats.

What is it about the left that requires them to indulge in chemical enhancement, do they think better when high and stoned?

Why do they regularly flout common rules of decency and law?

I almost can’t wait each day to read the news and all about the latest infringement on morality perpetrated by the left in their unending quest for nirvana.

Well, at least the kid was driving a ‘hybrid’ car, one championed by his daddy, the Inconvenient Al Gore.

Now if we could just be informed of a menage et trois, with Hillary, Michael Moore and Barack Obama, since fidelity in marriage is not a value to the left.

Whoopee!

Hope you never change your style...call names and attack the character instead of presenting issues...but then, with relativistic ethics and morality, where nothing is real, I guess thas all you got, eh?

(I didn't know those little eco cars could go 100 mph)

Actually, I had a friend who was a genius (at least he was pretty close), but needed pot every day to keep him centered. He suffered childhood abondonement and neglect that was terrible, and had lingering effects that could have made him quite violent (he had horrible anger against women that was stunning to anyone who heard him vent).

Medical reasons aside, I don't begrudge anyone pot. It certainly isn't something that is unique to a political party. Politicians are shitty enough, do you really need to drag their kids into it? As for the speeding, I thought you were against laws about driving?

Des, here you go again, expecting rational and coherent thought processes from ami.

Look who's talking? Aren't you supposed to be ignoring posts and threads (I believe there were doctor's orders :D )?

Your first paragraph is interesting as many of the high IQ acquaintances I have had the pleasure of making, are left leaning and artistic and very, very fragile for one or more reasons, often involving childhood trauma.

Traffic and Drug laws, yes I want fewer or none, however, the point here is that the 'left' disregards laws as if they were too intelligent to obey like the common people and that rather irks me; not that they break the law, but that they continue to claim superior status via intellect. It ain't so.

And, S-Des...we are getting into the silly season of politics. I cite the personal attack on Bush and his administration in which no holds are barred as the left begins a drive to reclaim the White House and retain a majority in Congress.

Using the past six years of Democrat behavior, I fully expect the barrage and the onslaught of political propaganda to begin soon. Thus I have decided to be a little, 'pre-emptive' in my approach and nip them in the bud using the same tactics they do.

A small departure for me, an experiment of sorts.

Des, just because I haven't engaged the ol' warhorse in awhile doesn't mean I've retired.

Besides, when he contradicts himself this blatantly, how could I resist?

I don't usually get involved with such arguments, I do like to read them. And in getting caught up after an absence, I've been reading some of Ami's stuff the last few days. Putting them together, it made me keep asking one question:

Which direction do I want to choose?
Marijuana possession = Left
Purjury = Right

While I advocate breaking no laws and am actually pretty middle of the road politically, between these two choices I'll go with the left every time.

I heard that Al Gore was a Satanist. Just putting that out there. Not looking to make waves, it's just some gossip I heard...

or made up.

How do we know that Al Gore 3.0 is a leftie? I haven't heard any reports of his politics. It's a fairly safe bet that he's as much a liberal looney tune as his old man, but we don't know that.

And while I am no fan of Al Gore the former Veep (in fact, I think he is an asshole), I wouldn't blame him for his adult kid's indiscretions. Any more that I'd blame GWB for the debaucheries of his twin boozer daughters........Carney

He's a robot like his dad. They're all programmed to be drunken, eco-friendly liberals. Most people aren't aware of that. Liberals=drunken robots.

The situation Ami cites is not the first time Al Gore's kid has been in trouble with the law. However, the previous problems ocurred when Al Gore was the VP of the US. For some, unknown, reason the stories were never published by the press, except the vile right wing press that no one believes.

I am assuming this is sarcasm?

You don't have kids, do you?

Ah yes but I do, lisa, a lot of them and they did all the usual things in growing up, but they have produced about twenty grandkids and all are healthy and thriving.

Nice try.

Yeah, nice try, "Lisa"! If that is your real name...

(gives her the evil eye)

um, not sure what producing grandkids is saying. My aunt is one of the best people I know. She has eight kids. Most are schoolteachers, farmers, one lawyer. One is serving in Iraq right now, did not have to, but stayed with his National Guard unit for an extra two years because he was the leader and knew they were deploying and did not want them to have to go without him. And she has one kid who has been in and out of the state pen for the last twenty years, last time was sent up for armed robbery, he wanted money to buy drugs.

My point - why advertise what Al Gore III is doing? Is he running for some office somewhere? Do you enjoy adding to the anguish currently borne by his parents?

Wasn't the blonde Bush daughter drinking alcohol when she was underage? Like that was a big deal, either.

First off, lisa, it is a news story that I saw on television this morning.

However, I do accept your criticism for perhaps adding to the anguish of Al and Tipper Gore and a family problem that should be a private matter.

But like the Bush family and the Cheney family, the 'Gores' are a public and political entity and subject to public knowledge and criticism.

Also, in the news item I linked the thread to, mention was made of Al Gore's book and his ecological stance as the car the boy was driving was, 'championed' by his father. That makes it, in my eyes, a 'political' statement subject to critique.

Depending upon your political philosophy and if you go back and read some of my posts, you will very soon either hate me intensely, or might even find something to like.

I am usually pretty fair and above board in my comments but I do respond in kind when the political opposition here uses rough and tumble tactics.

amicus...

Because he was driving a hybrid, you felt it was a political statement?

Not sure I can tell much from your posts, I have not read much, but am seeming to find contradictory statements....

If you wish to be heard, I think that resorting to the tactics of your detractors may not be the way to go. I personally prefer to lead, rather than to follow. just my opinion.

I don't even see why we need hybrids. Oil in an infinite natural resource. We'll always have oil. Internal combustion engines are where it's at!
