LOOOOOOOVE Maggie Q. I tried to get into Nikita twice, but the show around her was just too crappy. And that despite Q, Melinda Clarke, and Ashton Holmes giving their best. :/

Bai Ling is nice to look at, but lord, is she a crappy actress. XD

Felt that way just last week when we watched Iron fist. The woman who played Colleen Wing is very attractive and had some well done fight scenes, but that entire cast was horrible. I saw better acting in my daughter's middle school plays

Ohhhh, some of those chinese action movies, the acting is soooo bad. But there's some real classics. I just love Chow Yun Fat in "The Killer". Just an amazing movie. One of the best HK movies ever made.

This one's dubbed in indonesian but other than that, it's great. Worth watching.

Nice clip. I have a character like her. A former CIA agent gone rogue and now gun for hire. She becomes the love interest of a man hating witch in Chicago. They're quite the feminist power couple:D

I'm kind of working down that path with one of my story-lines. It's a work in progress and it kind of morphed into this direction. Needs a total rewrite.

Bai Ling? She can be kind of scary....

Yeah, hard pass on "Iron Fist", despite very much enjoying Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. The buzz is just too bad (aside from the whole race discussion). The actress playing Colleen Wing seems intriguing though, there's hoping they'll do a "Daughters Of The Dragon" thing and have her team up with Misty Knight!

Chloe, are you an expert of sorts on Chinese action movies? Can you recommend some with female leads?

Iron fist was bad because it was bad. As for race? Only snowflakes are crying about that.

Colleen wing is Asian Claire is black the villains are Japanese and the main board member antagonist is black so the race card is just something to whine about.

Of course saying luke cage was "black washed" and constantly portrayed whites as nothing but racists would be true but unpopular

But seeing the story takes place in Harlem? It's realistic so who cares?

But I guess for the white guilt crowd if a show doesn't have an 80% black cast it's racist

People need to grow up.

And before you hit me with 'White privelage" I grew up inner city and literally the only white kid in my class k- 4th grade then moved to the Hartford projects (Google it in rhode island" so I'm as far from racist as you can find.

And getting pretty sick and tired of being told I am anyway

Must be sad to have to take offense in every single thing out there In order to be trendy.

holy shit ok then o_0 *backing away slowly*

Well it is the Flame thread. LOL. Got some cold coffee here. If I pour it over you that should put those singed bits out.

Chinese movies? Tonitd. At work now.

Hahaha, yeah... I'll take the coffee shower... as long as it's black coffee! XD

Some of these posts appear to have been moved here from other threads, making this a bit like catching the middle of an argument without hearing the story.

Anyway, yes, Iron Fist was pretty bad. "I'm Danny Rand. Welder of the Iron Fist, sworn enemy of The Hand." Sadly what made it suck was that it wasn't really an origin story

Well, no. But some of us are honest and realistic. And you're being slightly absurd. There's no mechanism for promoting stories on Lit. Good thing too. Plenty of crap rises to the top as it is; imagine what marketing would do to the place.

I have a story that's been here about 5 years, in Erotic Couplings, red H, that's just above 20,000 views. It's well written

In your humble opinion of course.

and I'm happy with it. So are the people who stumbled across it. Does it matter that it's not 200,000 views? Nope. If you want those numbers, write mindless stuff in Incest or LW.

Because you have read all stories in incest and LW and found them to be mindless(which of course would be nothing but your opinion again.) Or perhaps you have discussed this with every reader in those categories and found them to be mindless

But if you want to write smart, plot-filled commentary, expect to be read by the 3% of the readership that cares about such things. 3% might be optimistic and is based on my guesses. The rest of the crowd here wants something very different, mostly either their mother or their sister.

So you have polled all of literotica and the results are 3% want well written stories and the other 97% only want incest?

The inflated opinion of your own writing is only exceeded by your raging jealousy over a category that you personally despise that has ten times the readership of your favorite category (rape) which I'm sure an equal number of people despise.

Maybe you have it wrong and the 97% just don't share your opinion of your own stories.

By no means an expert. I watch them now and then and I have a few and here's a couple that I like:

The House of Flying Daggers (2004) - the quality on this one is pretty bad but it'll give you an idea if you like it. Lead female actress is Zhang Ziyi.

Chocolate (2008) starring JeeJa Yanin - she's amazing (altho it's Thai, not Chinese)

Going back a few years, Angela Mao movies are quite something. She trained in Hapkido, Wushu, Taekwondo, and other forms of martial arts during her film career to prepare for her roles. Some if them are fairly awful but there's a couple of good ones. Try Broken Oath, it's probably her best.

Shadowless Sword is another one I like. It's South Korean, great sword fighting scenes.

Don't know if you've ever watched Hero but there's some great female acting in it - including this fight scene between Maggie Cheung and Zhang Ziyi

Well I'm not Chloe or an expert but I caught The Black Tavern this past weekend. It's a typical Shaw Brothers flick from the seventies with various criminal gangs, double crosses, and the like.

Shih Szu is the female lead and there are a few other female martial artists in it as well. The main villain, some Whipmaster, may really be the star or at least the most interesting character though she prevails, with some help.

Black Cat (Chinese: 黑貓; pinyin: Hei mao) - a 1991 Hong Kong action film directed and produced by Stephen Shin. The film stars Jade Leung as Catherine who accidentally kills a truck driver. After escaping trial, she is captured by medics who insert a "Black Cat" chip into her brain putting her under the complete control of the American CIA. The CIA makes her into a new CIA agent known as Erica. Director Stephen Shin originally wanted the film to be a straight remake of Luc Besson's film Nikita but couldn't after Disney purchased the rights for an American remake. Jade Leung won the award for Best Newcomer at the 11th Hong Kong Film Awards for her role in the film.

Here's the Black Cat Trailer

Was with limited access to the internet for a few days, sorry for the delayed answer! But the suggestions are great, will check them out.

Some of the movies I already know - Hero (FANTASTIC visuals and great acting, story was only so-so), and Chocolate (LOVED the lead actress, again the story was only so-so).

Can also recommend Raging Phoenix (bad story, but also with the incredible Jeeja Yanin of Chocolate) and of course Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (the only such movie I've seen where I loved the story as well - also, I'm so in love with Michelle Yeoh).

BostonFictionWriter was a plague on Lit. :)

If I'm a plague on Literotica, then what are you?

You, who supposed to be a moderator, how dare you?

I don't bother you. I haven't posted here. And here you are stirring up shit.

If anyone is a plague, it's you. I'd put you on ignore but Literotica doesn't allow me to put moderators on ignore.

Instead, I'll just tell you to go fuck yourself.

"Go fuck yourself."

BostonFictionWriter was a plague on Lit. :)

When I wrote as BostonFictionWriter from 2007 until the end of 2008, I wasn't a plague. I was a tsunami. People hated me. Why?

I wrote 300 stories and poems the first year. Imagine a new writer dare writing 300 stories and poems in an effort to win the beloved, year long contest, the Survivor Contest.

Unbeknownst to me then but of public record now, a group of Author Hangout Forum Board writers banded together to do whatever they could to stop me and beat me so that I wouldn't win the Survivor's contest.

"Can you imagine that?"

They wrote stories for the winner so that their compadre would have enough stories to beat me. They enlisted the help of the moderator/Laurel to dump my stories in the non-erotic categories instead of the categories I had earmarked them to post to make sure that I did, indeed, lose the contest.

I lost the contest but came in 2nd place.

The following year, 2008, I wrote 363 stories and poems. Game on. I wasn't playing the Survivor contest against one person, I was playing against a group of people playing for and writing for one person who didn't want me to win. I was playing against the moderator/Laurel who didn't want me to win either.

Again, I came in 2nd place. I just wanted to write but with money at stake, these people were nuts. They wanted to beat me at any cost. They hated BostonFictionWriter then in the way that they still hate BostonFictionWriter now, even though I haven't posted under that name since 2008.

They attacked me in the way that they still attack me now. They made up lies about me. They bashed every one of my stories by giving me 1 votes that would never be erased because Laurel doesn't scan my story pages in the way that she scans everyone else's story pages. You only have to read some of the stories of writers that have a red H on every one of their stories and then read one of mine to prove my point.

They even hacked my Facebook page to out me as a woman. Yet, now, they call me a man because, afraid to write under my real name, Susan Jill Parker, I wrote under my eldest brother's name, Freddie. Back in 2008, they called me a woman when I was pretending to be a man. Now that they all know that I'm a woman, they call me a man because they know it upsets me.

Long before any of this Survivor contest escalated, the worst thing that could have happened to me personally, I won a Green E. I even wrote an essay under BostonFictionWriter about Green E's being cursed or blessed.

After winning that first Green E, I won two more Green E's under two other names, I was a real target then. Most writers never heard of a Green E. Most writers don't have a Green E and I have three.

A Green E is given by Laurel to the writer that she deems wrote the best story. Then, when three of my stories went viral and made the all-time Most Read List, two under BostonFictionWriter and a third under WmForrester, one of my other names, there was another reason for these jealous writers to hate me.

I deleted the two BostonFictionWriter stories to post as e-Books. I can only imagine how many millions of hits they would have had 10 years later.

Yet, continuing their abuse, people wrote shit, shit, shit, shit, shit on every one of my stories. I couldn't make a post on the Forum Boards without being attacked, harassed, and called names then, just as I still am now.

I started getting death threats and e-mails that would anger the calmest person. Why? Over money? Why? Because I wrote too many stories on a story board? Why? Because I won a Green E? Why? Because I had stories on the all-time most read list?

The real reason was because, as an emotional, physical, and sexual abuse survivor, I wouldn't go quietly in the night. Instead, I fought back. I called out the cheaters who banded together to post as one writer to beat me. I called out the moderator for dumping nearly 100 of my stories in the non-erotic category because she claimed that they lacked enough sex (lol). If I was guilty of anything, I was guilty of writing erotica on an erotica site, Literotica, instead of pornography. If I was guilty of anything, I was guilty of not putting up with anyone's shit.

"How dare they?"

Ten years later, here they all are still attacking me by a moderator writing out of the clear blue that I was a plague when I wrote as BostonFictionWriter. All that I can write in response is..."Fuck you!"

Damn, well, that sucks.

I tried adding Geronimo Appleby to my ignore list but as it turns out, he's a moderator too.

Wow, for a site that isn't moderated, there sure are lots of moderators.
