AH Anthology

I would think they should at least be posting on this thread. As for being members of the AH, it is certainly not an exclusive membership. Anybody who wants to can join in. I don't see how somebody can get involved without posting here. After all, there is more involved than just writing. There is vetting, for instance, and being some kind of cheering section and general friendliness.

I agree. After all, it was begun as an AH anthology, was it not?

And flirting.

(Can't forget that!)

Allow me to clarify:

It's not the AUTHOR who's not an AHer ... it's the people doing the vetting.

Should non-AHers be allowed to vet stories, too?

How can people who do not participate in this thread, vet stories?
That would mean we cannot control the quality anymore, right?
And it is an AH project.

Not sure to be honest.

In that case, I would have to say no.

I trust the people I know here to make an honest judgment of the stories offered. Others, I don't know them so I'm going to be careful therefore.

I think of that as general friendship.

I would be inclined to agree with RG. This is an AH project so members of AH should be the ones involved in all parts of it. As I said before, nobody is actually unwelcome here in the AH, although some are more welcome than others.

Well, I think I'm the one she is talking about in the (1) part of her post.

I'm so confused...

And I'm the one she's talking about in the (2) part of her post. I still get feedback on the story. So, in my replies to the reader, I've been suggesting the PM to impressive.

Try a siggie pimp ... a link in your sig ... like Honey did. It worked for her. Two of her poems were vetted in record time.

Done! :D

My biggest issue with letting non-Ah'ers vet is that we have no way to judge how or why they would be vetting and it makes it hard to track along the lines of some issues we have had with bogus nominations for awards in the past.

I mean, there is the obvious of having someone who joined three days ago suddenly vetting three stories all by the same author...

..but there are people in other parts of this board too. Some alts may be well established. If you did not know any better, would you have any issue with China Doll vetting a story by Cheerful_Deviant? Probably not. Ride_me_Cowgirl vetting Dranoel? there are other examples out there...

For that reason, I would like to see vetting at least limited to people that there is some awareness of...

You mean Shock Chick can't vote???

Man, I hadn't even considered that possibility.
Shows you how gullible I am.

You're not the only one.

I have no issue with it, personally, if it's balanced with AH endorsements -- but this is a consensus-type project, so I tossed it out for discussion.

I forgot to make the offer to send the original illustrations from the anthologies to the authors whose stories/poems I illustrated.

They are on crappy paper (copier paper) as I figured they would be scanned anyway.

If you are one of the authors and would like your illustration...just PM me.

They are just sitting in a folder with no other purpose.
 You rock.

just taking a moment to give props where props are due.

We've been paid again! $70.20 this quarter. I'll be turning it around as soon as I figure out how much goes to eff.org and how much to Red Cross.
