I think so. The fact is that the older Dom/Dommes's should know what they are doing at an older age.

Nope. I think its more same age in the other relationships.

Yes. I could not even think about a relationship with a younger person. It wouldnt seem to be fair to expect a younger person to have the experience that I want them to have.

Although let me add in my 2 cents. Older does not mean wiser. The real point should be older with experience. The knowledge is what is important to me.

Until I was about 23, I always dated women a few years older than me....in their late 20's mostly.

Twenty years later I still mostly date women in their late 20's.

Go figure.

I see no need for a submissive partner to be younger than me, yet they always are. That might just be a function of superficiality on my part, or the fact that I just keep getting better looking and more desirable generally with my appeal extending to a larger sample of the cute-bummed, perky nippled kinky brunette populace.

Age isn't a factor to me for the most part. It would depend on the person.

Younger women, and men as well, are easier to dazzle LTR, and they stay dazzled longer. That is the attraction. However, they also become less challenging, on an intellectual basis especially, as time goes on.

18 years was the difference, when I was 18. It was a very short fling. He was too much into talking about his daughters friends. Who were my age, rather than being a Dom. I was disapointed and felt as if I was somehow bad or not good enough to be his sub at the time. I have since realized he wasn't a Dom. He was just a creep who liked young girls.

My current honey, who is learning to Master me is 12 years older then me. I like the age difference. He has taught me a lot about life and love. Things it would have taken me years to learn without him. Things I may NEVER have learned without him.

I feel his age gives him more power over me. Not in a weird way, but just in an "Experience of the world" kind of way.

I'm not sure. I think in my case it is a factor. I am rarely attracted to younger men. I feel that they do not have the knowledge to Master me. (I'mnot sure if that makes sense. )

Do you think it's more prevalent than in non-kink relationships? Again I am not sure. Even in suposed non-kink relationships. Age seems to be one dominating factor. I think, from my observations that women are drawn towards men who have live a little. I know I am.

That said, I have always been attracted to older men. I wonder as I get older if I will be attracted to men in their 30's and 40's or if I will continue to be attracted to older and older men?

same here100% ,I ALWAYS had been attracted to and even married much younger men because sexually they were the only ones that stood a chance with me and could keep me at least halfway satisfied sexually..ones my age were BORONG, plain, pure. and simple..When I was 32, i was with a 18 yr-old , when I was 40 I rocked the world of a 20 yr old lol anyways .. within the last year things have drastically changed (for the better ) for me.. Not so much Chrono as much as emotional I think Because there are HUGE amounts of trust and respect recquired in a BDSM relationship..Older is NOT necessarily "Wiser",however in my case , it IS..

Me? There's never been a big age difference, either chronologically or emotionally.

But then, I'm heterosexual. Does that have anything to do with it? I dunno. But I sometimes get the impression that in same-sex BDSM couples, age difference is even more common than in heterosexual BDSM couples. (That whole Daddy/i thing...) My theory: straight people have straight parents (usually) to be their sexual role models; whereas gay people have to depend on each other.

I haven't really had much by way of solid relationships, but as for people I've played with....men are always older than me. The one collared relationship I was in, my Dom was 45.

I am 24, the youngest Dom I've ever played with was 33. The oldest was 67. Usually 45-50 is about the norm. With women, they are usually closer to my age.

As a Top, on the rare occasions that I switch, my bottoms were always much older than me too, in the 33-50 range.

I prefer older partners, I feel more comfortable with their experience and knowledge, and acceptance of me. Always are exceptions though.

Maybe women's social 'power' is in their physical appearance -- something that tends to peak early, with some exceptions; whereas men's 'power' comes with age and experience.

In my experience in recent years, I have found that the women over 40 I know are primarily my friends.

I've also noticed what I perceive to be a generational difference between women of the Boomer generation and those who follow.

(Note: I was born at the cusp of the Boom generation in Canada; after my birth year, numbers of births have been in steady decline by comparison.)

My theory is that women of the Boom generation were the first to fight for and pioneer equal rights in and access to the higher-earnings sectors of the workplace.

The years from the late 70's until very recently, when pay equity and equal access to CEO positions became more commonplace were marked, in my view, by sacrifices by women of my age group. They didn't get a lot of support from the patriarchy.

I think this led to "enemy" status between men and women in my age group......what I sometimes refer to here as The Oprah Factor and some refer to as Bitter Women Syndrome.

That, combined with the traditional trend of older men with younger women, translates into my not meeting many women near my age in recent years that are as receptive to me as younger women generally.

It's not that I don't like women around my age. I do. I just find them less receptive comparatively speaking.

And I do enjoy a good reception....don't you?

That's my opinion.

Personally I have always had better relationships with people older than me. I do find myself drawn to men older than me, sometimes by over a decade. I can't speak to a D/s relationship yet.

Age of consent varies for different states and countries. It also varies between male and female in some places. On Lit,...18 is the line not to be crossed.
