Writers with a twist in their tale should consider a note at the end of the submission, asking anyone who comments in the portal to refrain from giving the game away.
It's nice to get comments...but the surprise ending in my 'Unexpected Therapy' tale was revealed in an otherwise pleasing review.

Are there other things like this we should be aware of?

Don't tell them in the fisrt para that there's gonna be lots of hot sex, and then fail to include any. (Lowest score I ever got).

After the horse has bolted, tell it that it's been very, very bad and requires severe discipline.

Then please do follow through.

Gotta catch it first!!

I felt that way with my first Youthful Pleasures story. I did not want the ending to be given away, so I put it in the category of First Time...when Laurel posted it, she changed it to Lesbian..so, the ending was definately "outed"!

Yep, it might be advisable to request all post a ***SPOILER*** warning.

That might sound daft, but that's what the "netiquette" tends to be on author sites, where people discuss books and so on.

Mmm, true. The genre is the toughest one. When you want to keep who does what with whom quiet, and yet want it in the right category ... hard decisions. I'm facing that with one of the ones I am working on now ... somehow I don't think they're going to let me get away with "Romance," although I think it romantic. If they post it at all, it's probably going to end up Nonhuman. Perhaps "Novella" would be a good end-run? It's quite long.

"Letters and Transcripts" was where I posted "Letters from the Hesperus" - not to keep the gay sex secret, but because, well, it was written as a series of letters. I was surprised when they changed it to "Gay," but in the end I appreciated it. It's gotten a lot more hits than most letters and transcripts, which are sadly neglected.
