Okay, so I have this intro written up now. Didn't before. I'm thinking something a mix of scifi and fantasy. Aliens are possible, though I'd suggest more of a focus on dragons, demons, and monsters. As some of you know, my views are less than Christian, so anyone going with the typical Christian view regarding such things as invariably evil will be asked once and only once to relent. Good and Evil are irrelevant...there are no species that are inherently good or evil. Such things are mental.

Now, that said, let's get some of the actual ideas out of the way.

Long after the fall of our civilization, the world has changed. The planet, blasted, broken, and pretty much barely hanging on, is just barely supporting survivors. Larger towns are market driven, with the only exceptions being a few small collections of high technology users, mages, or The Academy, a town centered around the last surviving hall of learning.

In this world, there are scattered groups of warriors who deal with the hunting of Bios, the product of genetic engineering gone wrong. Automated facilities mass producing faulty genetic material, creating true monsters, creatures that hunt and feed and prey upon travelers. Machines that once protected civilization having become degraded and corrupted to the point that they attack anything foolish enough to wander into their territory.

And as always, humans aren't all good. Even after everything that happened, there are still those who would take advantage of their fellow man. So the Hunters' Guild, an organized group of protectors, of warriors trained in the old ways, takes on any job they are paid for, be it protecting trade caravans, acting as personal bodyguards, or even something as mundane as retrieving a lost pet.

The requirements for joining the guild are simple. Be recommended. Be tested. Be apprenticed. Be tested again. If you pass the scrutiny of the Guild Examination board, you become a full fledged Hunter, Ranger, or Force, dependent on your choice of weapon. Before you can be tested by the Board, you must first pass your Master's tests. Different Masters use different methods for testing, as well as for training.

The main weapons of each class are simple. A hunter is master of the melee weapon. A ranger is master of projectile weapons. A force is master of the mind.

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Species (for those that are organic) or Model (for those who are mechanical):
Appearance (or picture):
Description: (this is where nonappearance traits would go...personality, biography, history)
Class/Profession (class if you're a Hunter's Guild member, profession if you're not):

some basic roles looking for, I suppose, would be a few Guildmembers. We could probably use a villain, though I may make that NPC. most Guild Quest contractors will be NPC, and thus storybased. I should think we should have an Academy professor or principal.other than that, there's not much for specifics. whatever works. Mechanical falls under several different categories. Androids, first of all, are self explanatory. Mechanoids, which are AI in purely mechanical or weaponized form (such as Mechanical soldiers, Autotanks, and so on). Then there are the largescale AI Computer systems, which I think I may open up as characters (something like Seed from Phantasy Star 4). Then there are the Artificial Life Forms. Some Biomonsters are intelligent, sentient, even. Those are usually the ones that keep to themselves, leaving well enough alone, though sometimes they are either helpful or violent, depending on their nature (the helpful ones may come in the form of pet-like creatures, for instance). The Hybrids, known as Numans, or NeoHumans, are genetically engineered humanoids created using cells from Biomonsters and humans. Their exact capabilities are unknown. Age is indefinable, as they were, at the time of the collapse, an entirely new thing. They may live months, or millenia. They have high mental faculties, but tend to be weaker physically. As such, they rely heavily on Techniques or Magic in battle.

As the collapse happened, magic surged back into the world, resulting in the resurrection of races of ancient legend, and reawakening of slumbering creatures of the Old World, like Dragons, The Brood, Weres, Zoans, and such.

Most humanoids are incapable of magic, and rely instead of Techniques, which are highly developed skills that convert mental energy into purely physical form. The magic users, on the other hand, rely on using their own mental strength to call upon the power drawn from everything around them. Both are finite resources, as using techniques depletes one's mental strength, and using magic exhausts one both physically and mentally.

As for aliens, they can take just about any form, should they appear. Some will be benevolent, some malevolent, but most will be indifferent.

Name: Stormfang
Age: mid twenties
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Appearance: not sure on this yet, I'll either come up with something or find a pic later
Description: Stormfang was raised amongst survivors of one of the ancient native tribes that had survived prior to the Collapse. He has been trained in the use of most weapons, and as a teenager, was apprenticed to a passing female Hunter, who took him on feeling he had great potential. She died recently, leaving him her home in the town that houses the Guild's central headquarters, and a legacy he strives to live up to.
Class: Hunter

I love these kinda threads! If you dont mind i'd love to join! I love to play like (as i call them) "re-built" humans. Like her arm was blown off so they built her a new one. Like Jet from Cowboy Bebop. But it's kind of a bas ass armor ya know?...and not like a decepticon on her arm. Or maybe she damaged her eye and has more awesome eye sight...that kinda thing allowed?

I'm pretty sure I asked this last time you had a thread similar to this but my brain has deleted that part to make room for that stuff i'm supposedly learning in college lol. w00t. thanks.

lol...you'd be most welcome. And you're thinking something like Edward's Automail or something, I think...

hmm? Maybe not the eye part but like if you lost a limb you get a metal replacement but since this is future-y and stuff...this would be made with better metals, and not just blam plastic replacement leg. but more like BAM! metal bad ass replacement leg! lol. Am i making any sense what so ever? haha.

We have the technologies...we can make her stronger..better....(however that speech goes). lol.

It'd depend on the specific technology. It could be entirely electronics and polymers. Or it could be purely mechanical. *shrugs*

also...and this will be my one geek moment for the day...

"We can REBUILD him. We can make make him stronger. Faster. SMARTER. We can make him BETTER. We have the technology."

I preferred the Bionic Woman to the Six Million Dollar Man myself

Dragon...my friend...no offense, you are a geek moment of the day lol. It's okay though...chicks dig geeks (or atleast more of us should).

I know this is from Rifts(which i'm a fan of) but something like this minus the dude in the back and that magic cirlce orb thangy. just look at the arm.

If that makes more sense. And if i did something like this...what would her species be? I dont think i'd nessecarily say andriod (since i've seen in defined in many different ways) but like human version 2.5? haha.

ANd this was my head. Like her lower leg (from the knee down) got crushed so they made her a new functional one. just made of a stronger material. She's a human just upgraded in some parts to make her better. Like one of her arms is all jacked up to give her better aim and a steadier shot to make her more accurate. I'm just thinking of random things. So lemme know what flys and what doesnt.

that would make her a Cyborg.

and I know....especially since most of the girls who seem interested in me are either way too young, or too far away to do any good

Cyborg...thank you..that word for some strange reason escaped me lol. Damn you college and my requirement to retain knowledge!

Girls are dumb anyways...there's a reason I'm bi and not just flat out gay lol.

I'm gonna post a bio and stuff in a sec. :D
I'm gonna try to find a pic but i never know where to look to find one! lol.

lol...Cyborg....Cybernetic Organism. by traditional description, a merging of machine and living tissue. By a more complex, more SciFi def, a Cyborg is a mechanized life form, such as an AI Robot or Android. or a level five computer AI << >>

Okay GEEK....we got it haha. :p
I'm going with Cyborg because it freakin' works...k? haha.
Is there some kind of geek switch in you that we can flip on and off? Not that i dont love your dedication...but it's making me look bad infront of the other nerds! haha.

unfortunately not. It's a random thing. It happens more often when I've not got about four threads at once going.

I'd like to join. I'm Armsman, and would like to join the Guild as a Ranger. I'm a slightly modified [enhanced] human; no obvious differences, but speeded-up reflexes, eyes with telephoto addition, resistant to disease, and with strengthened skin so I'm more difficult to injure. Any problem with these?

Name: Tzera
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Species: Cyborg
Appearance: 5’9”, goldish eyes, long down to her shoulder blades black hair. Tan skin, toned/curvy body. Her right lower leg (from the knee down), her entire left arm are completely reconstructed but act and function as normal body parts. She also has a scar all over her body but on slightly longer one that trails from the corner of her left eye down her cheek to below her ear.
Description: A girl that grew up in the ghettos with less than friendly survivors, Tzera found herself in many fights (how she got her scars) and defending her life in the broken streets that she lived in. One day after winning a fight she surely should have lost she was spotted by a Hunter and was given a chance to fine-tune her already great fighting capabilities, leave the ghetto and re-start her life as an apprentice and eventual guild member. Her attitude stayed the same being rather tough and untouchable which caused her to get into a bit of trouble where she lost her arm and part of her leg. She was ‘repaired’ and now had much better accuracy with a steadier hand and a much stronger punch. Her leg provided better balance and helped her run faster and jump a bit higher. They weren’t huge advantages but definitely helped. She now lived alone close to the headquarters.
Class/Profession: Hunter

Hope that works!

welcome to both of you

*yawns* I was kept up till the wee hours by my little brother and my best friend. They got into an argument that sounded like it almost cost me my best friend. For which I would have killed my little brother.

Dragon, pal, friend, cowriter...

This is Literotica. If somebody comes here harping at you for having non-evil Devils, you can tell them to go fuck themselves.

:D

lol....danke for that. I get enough flak for my views, it's good to find someone giving me the goahead to go on a Bender

I agree haha. I'm not sure why you wrote that.

Excuse me sir! I will write porn and yummy raunchy sex scenes...but vampires and devils are EVIL and Jesus wouldnt stand for this! lol.

lol....have you ever seen how they make those? it's actually really amusing.
