Let's say Hillary wins the landslide the media and Lit pundits have been predicting for months.
Let's say the FBI comes up with proof of several felonies committed by the president-elect.
Should the FBI go ahead and indict or, considering she's headed for the Oval Office, just forget about it?

Please. We all know how to conduct ourselves during a Clinton impeachment process.

For the sake of discussion if there's any evidence found at all it's only because her aide's husband was engaged in a private sexual matter.

Any evidence that was culled by her lawyers as not relevant needs to stay destroyed. What's the point of destroying evidence if the FBI is just going to dig it up anyway? That just just destroys the rule of law, attorney-client privilege, and obstruction of justice... and basically, it's just not fair.

So obviously the whole thing it's just a product of the vast right-wing conspiracy and the obvious answer is forget about it.

As a page designer, the headline "President-elect indicted" would probably be a perfect 72-point, five-column headline.
As a realist, the headline is a given. No way Comey makes the announcement unless there's something there.

I wouldn't think so. To get an indictment you have to get it before a grand jury and you can't get it before a grand jury if Loretta Lynch won't let it be heard.

Modern Congress doesn't have the stones to impeach an intransigent, corrupt attorney general so I see an impasse.

Indict her. So long as drumpf doesn't get his little hands on the prize. It's just a competition to him.

FBI doesn't indict, grand juries do,and certainly not a sitting president who can only be removed from office and sent on for civliian criminal prosecution after impeachment by the House and conviction by the Senate. A House impeachment (indictment) committee would obtain evidence from the FBI to justify their charge. The House then passes the charge to the Senate, where it will die. Much time, money, noise, and stress wasted on horseshit.

Sequence of events, worst-case:

* FBI discovers evidence of prosecutable felonies by HRC and/or DJT.
* HRC or DJT is elected President. (Tromp is being probed too.)
* New President is inaugurated. House votes for Impeachment Committee.
* House reviews committee report, votes for impeachment, and calls Senate.
* Somebody bought-off enough Senators that they vote for conviction.

* President is perp-walked to a limo and taken away.
* Local prosecutor wherever felonies allegedly occurred gears up.
* Expect 3-5 years of pre-trial wranglings and maneuvers.
* Trial lasts a month. Appeals last a decade.
* Ex-prez cashes in on lecture circuit, boards of directors, and consultancies.
* Jail? Ha.

MEANWHILE:
* Ex-Vice President takes control, tries to proceed without fucking up.
* Hostile Congress blocks their every move, of course.
* New President rules by royal decree / executive order.
* The political elites, pawns of their corporate owners, go on as usual.

Does that sound about right?

who profits off a hillary indictment? it's a machine that keep feeding itself.

Why don't you make a citizen's arrest and help us all out?

Because anyone who can put the FBI in check while waving their felonies in front of them is way above my pay grade.

And I don't really care, I WANT HER TO WIN!!

We need 8 more years of complete shit from Washington and we need to increase income inequality faster..... dumb fuck Americans haven't fuckin learned yet. :D

I'll be amazed if this goes forward. There are just too many major donors of both parties and too many "leaders" of both parties implicated for it to go forward. Washington isn't going to prosecute itself.

The cynic in me thinks that Lynch will just cut a new round of sweetheart immunity deals with the people she needs to in order to make this go away and they'll find a way to boot Comey--who I think only made this move to cover his ass when he realized people both within and without the FBI were starting to notice his deep connections to the Clinton Foundation--and fire the FBI agents involved who haven't already resigned.

Clear thinking wasn't your best school subject.

Generally speaking, the cat jumps to the spot where the shit is shallow.

If she gets elected, can she pardon herself? :D

On tv today a few Democrat pollsters suggest next week looks like a Carter/Reagan repeat, and predict a Clinton collapse by this weekend.

Read all the way to the bottom. The reason we just saw a nice jump now is because they are coming from an abysmal period of stagnation. With that boost they are now back to 1999 levels.

This continues to be the worst recovery on record.

I think accentuating the positive is a good thing consumer confidence even when it's misplaced is useful in our unfortunately consumerist driven economy. There's a limit to how much you can puff reality.

We still have the lowest labor participation rate since the 1950s. That means that the most number of people ever are not working. None of the people that aren't working can pay taxes to help support this behemoth. We have a record number of people draining the social security system with disability claims.

They have proof of several felonies already. BotanyBoy said so.

No, the Director of the FBI said so. The fact that he went on to waffle and say that no prosecutor would bring charges in this case doesn't change the felonies that he outlined with a pretty good degree of specificity.
