I believe that some of my writing is hard to follow. Perhaps I am missing important details that exist only in my mind, and that omision in my story might stay hidden from my eyes, even though I read it a dozen times. Would anyone like to give my next piece a quick read, and offer their thoughts?

Duh! I forgot to mention the basics. 8600 words. Group Sex. All consentual, no bondage, ff action with no mm beyond incidental contact.

I don't edit except for myself, but I can offer a suggestion.

Writing is sort of like driving in some ways. When you drive from one place to another, you never think about watching for other cars that might pull out in front of you or how fast the traffic is really moving. You do watch for those cars and try to match the speed of the traffic, but those are unconscious reactions. If you wrote about that trip, you wouldn't write that the little red compact looked like it was going to drive out in front of you so you slowed down or that you were nervous because the traffic was going faster than the speed limit. What you would write about is the accident you almost had.

It's the same way with writing erotica. You'll be thinking, at least subconsciously, about what you and your partner would be doing, but you probably won't write that. The way to avoid that trap is to compose the scene in your mind and then step out and become an observer rather than a participant. It helps to write your story or at least that scene, wait a week or so, and then become that observer. If you do that, you'll have forgotten what you were thinking and the missing details will become pretty obvious.

I'll take a look. Ping me in a conversation.
