Advice on story submission

I'm about to submit my first story. Can anyone tell me what is supposed to go in the "Key words" section of the submission form.

Thanks,
Steve

They "keywords" are used by people searching the stories for particular subjects. It's also a good place to put a couple of words to describe the main thrust (can i use that word here?) of the story.

Let's say you have a story that has a lot of women wearing boots in it. There's no category for 'boots', so you might put that in the keyword, so anyone looking for a story involving boots will find yours.

You actually don't have to put any keywords in that space far as I know. But that's what it's for.

Thanks. That makes sense for increasing readership if you add some subject words.

I always love the good "doctor ms" comments. Just wish I could draw him into a debate. TRACY

Keywords is a good place to stick in standardized ASSM etc. story codes. The search engine tags them, but they don't show up in your document.

Is there a problem with "Story Search? I've been getting the "whoops" error message for the past 5 days.
