I started a story last year that was originally going to be a little romantic stroke story, so I posted it under Romance. It was posted as a two chapter story and completed as far as I was concerened. Because of feedback I expanded the story little by little and before long I realized I had created a monster that grew and wouldn't die, kind of like the Blob.

Anyway, it took on some Science Fiction aspects but because the original story was classified under Romance, I decided to leave all subsequent chapters there. I thought that it was a good idea to keep the whole story under one classification. And it never got that far into Science Fiction, anyway.

Here's my problem: I left a whole lot untold when I finished the first story, so I decided to put that in a sequel. From force of habit, I suppose, I put it under the Romance category. But now I realize that this story is a whole lot more SF than romance. I have three chapters posted, and I think it would be best if I reposted the whole thing under Science Fiction. That way I won't piss off the romantics who think these stories intrude on their category, and might find a more appropriate audience from those looking for true SF.

I've looked through the guidelines on the site but haven't come up with a method of doing this. I know I am an idiot. I know I could just start posting new chapters as SF, but I want all chapters under a single category.

My original story was called Death by Fucking and my new story is Tales of the eKids .

How do I achieve this without pissing off Laurel?

You shouldn't worry about it.

1- the readers will simply hit the "back" bottun as soon as they don't see what they want to see.

Take this one for example: category - incest

2- if Laurel think a story doesn't fit in with the category, she'll change it, like she did with my story.

Are you plugging your ekids story? It's rather good.

changing categories...

I'm with CV...I doubt it's that big a deal. If no one is complaining in your feedback maybe you should just leave it under romance. Your readers know where it is that way. But, you can EDIT the story and just resubmit it in a different category. Just let the staff know what you changed in the remarks...you can get the real instructions on how to do it in the FAQ. Good luck with it!
