Advertising or URL rejection?

I submitted a story based in ancient Rome and was rejected for possible advertising or URL link. I up loaded the word file like previous stories. I suspect moderators run a scanning program looking for certain telltale that violate standards.
I suspect that since, in the preamble, I referenced old friends who I "hope are also writing for literotica " might be the trigger.
Any other way to self review the text looking for something else? Thanx.

As far as I know, mentioning any other website - particularly story websites - will get your story rejected. Including links will too. Mentioning Lit shouldn't be a problem, seeing as you're allowed to include links to Lit pages in your stories.

Links, URL or email addresses, phone numbers even if they are made up and don’t exist are clear indicators for being rejected.

Nope. None of that. Set In 68 bc. So brand names don't exist. I wonder if roman names of gods mentioned or character names triggerd. I reached out to a vol editor. Maybe they have back channel to moderator for a clue. Sigh.

A string of numbers you might have included to, for eg, indicate a distance? The @ symbol or .com (eg a typo when you you meant to write "It was a long way. Contemplating the..." but instead wrote "It was a long way.Contemplating the..."

Not here but elsewhere I got pinged for vulgarities for writing "Yay! [Name] is back!" Because SB was blocked to avoid people calling each other SB's, and it took me ages to work out the vulgaritiy, lol.

Honestly, I'd just resubmit it with a note confirming that you haven't included any links, advertising or phone number. Good luck!

A follow up. Issue resolved, sort of. The mods have been very patient with me. Story been rejected 2 more times. They even showed me the culprit line complete with the hidden http reference.
To get authentic ancient Roman names I found a web site with such a list. I cut and pasted the name (s) into the Word doc of the story.
Even though the name was not Blue or showing a hot link, an http ref came with the cut and paste.
I went to the problem line, highlighted then right click and opened " hyperlink" on the drop down. The link, just as they said, was there. I clicked "remove hyperlink" said Save OK. Then resaved the full story and resubmitted.
Nope. Rejected for same reason. Went back and the damn http hidden line was still there!
So I retyped the whole offending paragraph, checked for hyperlinks and none showed up in whole story. Saved the story and will resubmit. Again. If it's rejected on the tech issue again then some higher power just doesn't want it published. Insert heavy Sigh here.
I'll let you know if it was accepted.

Well. Rejected again. Gotta say laurel really patient. Turns out every place where there was a proper name had a hidden http. Ancient Roman names I got from a web site. I should have just typed in instead of cut and paste. I culled the story and, ta da! PUBLISHED today! Debauchery of Ancient Rome. I'd do a link but not sure how. I need a drink. 😃

If you're working in Word, there's an option to remove all formatting. Of course that doesn't help if there are italics or bolds that you want to retain.
