Adobe Flash Problems

The other day I started having problems w/ my Adobe Flash player - when on YouTube the video would open up in a separate window from the web page and on XHamster I could not play a video at all.

I removed Adobe Flash and then downloaded a fresh install - same problem.
I currently have Flash removed and able to watch YouTube and XHamster; sometimes I'll see a brief blank screen in the video box indicating the Flash Plug-In is missing, a moment later the video begins as it should; other sites won't play at all, just show the missing plug-in message - I assume YouTube has it's own internal player.

My Setup:
- Windows 7; 64bit
- Use Firefox for my browser
- Antivirus: Comodo Internet Security Pro 2012

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Steve

What plugins are you using? Check for updates, deactivate those that are not working.

The biggest one is NoScripts, which stops things like vid players and all advertising, and malware.

NM - I think you're on target; I recently downloaded or clicked on some link that was recommended to stop pop-ups.

I don't recall what it was and don't see anything that stands out in my Program list or Download history.
Obviously I'm not the most computer savvy person...

Suggestions on where to look or what to look for to identify the plug-in to remove?

Thanks again

EDIT: It was 'Adblock Plus' that I activated within Firefox; looks like I can disable the program on specified sites. I'll download Adobe Flash and try again later tonight or tomorrow - It's dinner out and 'play' time later tonight!! :D

Switch to Chrome to stop popups. I get then once in awhile, but not as often as I get them when using FireFox or heaven forbide, IE. *shiver at the thought*

I definitely don't get popups on xhamster or youtube.

My flash works fine.

Adblock plus should be safe, I use it on both chrome and firefox with all my computers. Run mbam or avast and see what they turn up. If they find things finish up with spybot search and destroy. Still having issues clean your registries and use a usb anti virus tool like stinger in safe mode.

though it could be something simple such as an improper install over an old version. Always make sure that the program is removed entirely including old versions

hope it all starts working for you.
