Adding Story Tags to existing Stories without re-checking in?

Maybe this isn't the right placce to ask this question, but I didn't find a forum to contact the admins where I am allowed to post to. So I try my luck here.

I wrote and published about 70 stories so far, and didn't care much about tags. I meanwhile think this was a an omission I should fix. Is there any way to add tags after publishing?

Thanks in advance,

Sunny

You have to do an edit to add anything to an existing submission.

Start a new submission with the same title as the original ( or as much as will fit ) + a notation such as *EDIT* If the original title is short enough, use something like *TAGS EDIT* to note that you're doing a minor, quickly processed edit.

It's a good idea to copy the URL of the original submission you're editing and place it in the NOTES section.

Fill in the tags you want. Since you're only adding tags, copy the "NOTES" section to the "STORY TEXT" section. Something has to be in story text, but you're not editing that, so the notes section is a good filler. Select the same category, language, etc. as the original.

The NOTES section is the important part. State that you're adding tags to previously untagged stories. There's a fair chance the edit will go through faster, because it's much quicker and easier to process than editing the text of the story. Edits are on a "When Laurel has time" schedule, so it can take a long time for her to get around to them with the huge queue of new work. It's also a good idea to paste that URL of the original here, just to make sure she knows exactly what submission you're adding the tags to.

Then just preview and submit as you would a new submission.

Try not to overload the queue too much. You have 70 works you're adding tags to. Put one or two in at a time, what for them to process, and then move on.

Eventually, they plan to implement a much easier point-n-click editing process, but we're not there yet.

Nice. The FAQ is really getting into the weeds with clear instructions. They've been doing a lot there since the last time I looked. Guess I can stop typing all this and just link.
