i have a idea, others may have the same or even its coming in a update to this site.

being able to subscribe to a member so you can be told when they post a new story by private message on this site or by a email notification. just a though but would be very helpful to keep up with new stories.

This comes up frequently and the answer doesn't change. The site doesn't, because it doesn't, and you can send a private message to Laurel and/or Manu (who own and run the site) asking for this feature, but don't go looking for it any time soon.

To keep up with an author, the easiest thing at this point is probably to add them to your favorites, perhaps bookmark your favorites page, and then just check it. New stories will have a yellow "N" next to them.

Or, as I do, readers could just know that there will be a new story on either Tuesday or Wednesday of most weeks.

I would suggest sending your email addy in a PM to the author with your request. The dilemma for the author would be discerning between actual fans and trolls waiting to bomb the author's next story.
