What's wrong with private messsaging? As far as I know, if you have a valid e-mail address and use the contact form on someone's profile, it works.

Hey all. I've been going to Chyoo for a long time (well, long enough to forget how I found it, anyway) and enjoying everyone's work. But it wasn't until the Chyoo FAQ got posted that I got some tips on submitting my own material, or that this forum even existed. I'm definitely going to be working on some submissions now. Keep up the good work!

Bookmarks seem to work for me. If I've bookmarked a thread of a story and somewhere in the story gets modified (bumped), that bookmarked thread goes to the top of the Bookmarks list (with background color, at least for a while).
I use bookmarks to keep track of stories I haven't contributed to, and to keep track of threads in large stories that I'd like to add to. Works good for me.

I see it now... No bestiality, no underage sex. (by that, I guess you mean under 18 ?) But shouldn't it be put somewhere where it's easier to find ?
And I guess the "no bestiality" means no sex with a dog, but how about sex with a werewolf ? A neanderthalian ? A dragon ?
Besides, is everything else allowed ? I'm thinking about scat, watersports, tentacle monsters, rape, and sex with Chirac's wife. (unexhaustive list)

Snuff I don't know about, have seen one thread with a certain tentacle-involvement that also lead to the death of the main character.
And I belive that you're even allowed to write in depth about hot man-on-man sex between Chirac and Sarkozy.

Re underage sex...
I read that underage sex is a concern on CHYOO because of perceived illegality. That is obviously going to vary jurisdiction to jurisdiction, but I can't imagine text stories involving ficticious teenagers would be prosecuted anywhere in the western world. Depictions of real events containing real children or teenagers would, however, be a bad idea. But that isn't what CHYOO is about, is it?
However, if CHYOO doesn't want to publish stories featuring underage sex just because it doesn't want it, that's its perogative.
I notice the stories contain an awful lot of characters claiming to be 18 without showing any ID...

Assume that they're above 18 years of age?
Or has this been explained in depth in the FAQ?
And finally, who came up with the guidelines about age, violence etc?
Literotica's staff have pretty much ignored Chyoo, so I'm sceptical about the idea that they would be the ones behind the rules.

I don't quite get the confusion. The site has operated under pretty consistent rules since it began. Below are the guidelines that I posted in the FAQ. These are the rules that I have operated by since I have been a member of the site. If anyone can think of anything useful to add by all means speak up. They are not complicated, or particularly difficult to abide by.

I wouldn't characterize it as "confusion".
It seems to me that CHYOO is generally permissive, except that rules have been set around discrete areas (bestiality, underage sex, unacceptable sexual violence). I agree that these rules have probably been there for quite some time. I also agree that they are not complicated or difficult to abide by.
My post inquires about the motivation behind the rules. I especially asked about underage sex, but it could apply to any of them.
I think I've read that the rules arise from legal concerns.
Basically, my view is if it arises from fear of prosecution, there would not be much of a danger of that in the Western world so long as the stories are clearly ficticious. If the concern is prosecution in an illiberal jurisdiction, then the site has probably overstepped the bounds already (ie homosexuality, extramarital sex). This also applies to "libel" concerns: the obviously fictional exploits of various celebrities on the site is probably not illegal, but if it is, the rules set down don't prevent the libel.
So I just wonder if anyone knows what is the intent of the rules, other than "the powers that be say this is not allowed on CHYOO".
