:( Oh, that is sad news. One more legend, lost. He was one of the great ones.

Richard Harris on the art of pick ups in bars...

“The barman said ‘That girl would like to buy you a drink’. I said ‘No, thanks’. So 20 minutes later she said ‘Excuse me, I would like to buy you a drink’. I told her ‘Okay, providing I don’t have to talk to you’.So she bought me a drink, then said ‘You’re by yourself, I’m by myself why don’t you want to talk?’ I asked her, ‘Are you trying to pick me up?’ She said ‘Yes’. I said ‘How old are you?’ She was 28. I said ‘Why would a 28-year-old want to pick up a 70-year-old?’ ‘Because I can’t pick up anything else!’ she said. So I told her ‘You’ve a great sense of humour’ and we had a great night!”

Love Richard Harris, one of my favorites. I always thought it would be interesting to just sit & talk to him. He lived an amazing life.

From the IMDb website:
No cause of death was named, though Harris's family said he died peacefully. Recent reports noted that Harris had been undergoing chemotherapy since August after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, though Harris and his family had been optimistic that he would be able to reprise his role as Professor Albus Dumbledore in the third Potter film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

I read that he was being treated for Hodgkins Disease. He is in the new Harry Potter movie & had planned on being in the third movie, slated to start production next March.

Ah, my mum will be so sad. She always enjoyed it when he came home to Limerick. She'll probably call me tomorrow. She always calls him "Dickie Harris." "Oh, Dickie Harris was in town last week, visiting his relies."

He was great in Jim Sheridan's film of John B. Keane's play The Field.

A sad event......

A great actor, with his charm and wit, entertained the world. His presentation of Camelot stuck with me all my life. As he aged, he didn't slow down and like a fine brandy, became a sought after rarity. I always knew that if he was in a movie, it was worth seeing.
The world has experienced a great loss.

Rest in Peace Dear Richard. :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose:

Dumbledore is dead? The current generation of kids will be crushed! He was excellent in that role.

I'm reading "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" this weekend while traveling so that I'm ready for next month when the movie comes out.
