Activity no longer updating

Hi there, I noticed that in the author dashboard, under "My Home", the activity list hasn't updated since June 2nd. I've gained followers, gotten comments and had new work published in that time, but nothing has shown up on my activity log. Is this a known issue? Anything I can do on my end?

Author favs and story favs do seem to be working.

I believe the comments are only posted once they've been moderated/filtered/reviewed. Currently the notification process on the site is offline (since 2022.06.02), so they are probably (hopefully) busy working on that. The comments will likely follow.
Unless they decide to just let the comments through as they are added (certainly a preferred solution for many authors).

I have the same problem as GivingThisATry - and I suspect that everyone else that uses a "home page" to follow what is going on has the same problem. Sure hope that this is fixed soon.

I'll take your word on it that comments are only scanned for Spam. Maybe I've been extremely lucky, but I've never needed to delete a non-spam comment for offensive content. In the past I have received notications of comments from non-anonymous users that never appeared. Odd.

My point was, based on empirical evidence, the scanning itself doesn't seem to happen at the time of the comment submission.

Instead, comment scanning may be managed by a batch processor. It may also be an automated and scheduled event as comments appear at relatively fixed times of the day in bunches, not a natural pattern for comment submissions.
(I believe it would be preferable to most authors to receive comments as they are submitted.)

All this said, it has been reported that comments aren't showing at all currently, so this process might be offline like the notification system.

In the old days, comments used to appear as soon as they were written. That changed to a system where they are held while they're scanned for bad links and then batch posted. There are times when a commenter goes off the rails and gets reported at which time the site may intervene and remove them everywhere. I've had that happen, although the comment posted on my story wasn't that bad as far as I was concerned.

But for the most part these days, comments are only scanned for spam links. In the author panel, you can inspect each comment and decide if you want it to stay or not.

Comments are being deprecated on this site. It used to be people had conversations about the stories because it was all in real-time. Now it takes so long for a comment to appear that it's not worth the reader's time.

None of the authors I'm following are showing in either My Home or My Authors since 02/06, even though some have clearly had stories published on the site since then. Stories available befor 02/06 are still showing in both feeds so it seems that the feeds are no longer updating! Hope this can be fixed soon as I use this feature daily to catch new stories!

I've begun to receive the missing notifications from 2022.06.02 onwards. They are up to 2022.06.04 so far. Hopefully this will continue until they catch up to the present day.
