Action in the dessert

Hey I'm looking for a story I read a couple years ago I believe. Its set in new mexico or arizona. A younge woman and her boyfriend went there on vacation or a job interview there. They were hiking the dessert trails and he attacked her. A young local lesbian woman came to her rescue. They fell in love and everything was wonderful till the boyfriend found her and kidnapped her.the police had a big search and they found her and they all lived happily ever after.
