I notice a growing number of references to post such as the following:

https://cdn012.**********/uploads/ph...56m9ZfDae.jpeg

How can you access posts such as this?

I haven’t seen that error message before while looking at any threads or attachments. You may want to ask at the tech support forum at the very top of the forums page, but it is quite possible that no one replies or they don’t reply quickly, just fyi.

bdsmlr . com has been determined by the site to be ...

a) riddled with malware
b) a site that they don't want anything to do with because it's loaded with viruses
c) it has done something to cause it to banned by Lit.

The home page of that bdsmlr site has this message displayed:

"ANNOUNCEMENT:
We are banning image hotlinking to reduce the load on our servers. If you were blocked but you think you shouldn't be, please get in touch with us via chat or Support.

I believe that is why we on Literotica get that Error 1020 when we try to access a post linked to that site.

In this case, you can't, because the link is broken. Let's look more closely at that URL:

ph...56m9ZfDae.jpeg

What's happened here: originally, there would have been a longer link, something like:

blah blah blah/uploads/phabcdefghgoshthisisalonglinkwithalotofcharactersinit56m9ZfDae.jpeg

When you have a link on a website, what the link points to (the URL) and what displays as the link text aren't always the same thing. For instance, this link says Pepsi but it actually points to Coke.

In some places, if you paste in a long URL, it will truncate that for display. So that "phabcdefghgoshthisisalonglinkwithalotofcharactersinit56m9ZfDae.jpeg" might become "ph...56m9ZfDae.jpeg" for display, but when you click on it, it still has the full-length URL that points to the picture you're looking for.

However, if somebody copies the link text, they will copy that truncated, incomplete version, instead of the whole URL. That doesn't have the full information needed to locate the picture, and clicking on it will just get you error messages. Unless you can chase the sourcing back to a version that did have the complete URL, you're out of luck, sorry :-/

Not so. Lit still allows bdsmlr links, e.g. I can post https://www.**********/.

Where did you get that idea?

And that was D. in my list... but didn't thing to post it. Also Lit sometimes does replace parts of the URL with ... or *** either of which will stop the display of the linked item.
