I am offering to do illustrations for Literotica authors at a greatly discounted rate from what I charge book publishers. If you would like to take advantage of this you can email me at dryink@hotmail.com.

I have attached a sample so you can judge my quality and style.

It isn't free, but I'll do it at the cheapest rate I can for you.

Thanks, DryInk, for naming yourself. It does help if you want to have real creditbility here for this purpose. The offer seems to be quite valid, and the illustration is fine for those who wish a more cartoonish quality to it.

However, I'm a little put off by any charge to put an illustration on a story that goes out free to the public.

Good luck with this.:)

Thank you for the offer, however I won't accept it for the following reasons:

1. I firmly believe that a picture cheapens the writing. A picture takes the attention of the reader and gives the reader pre-disposed ideas to the action in the story. The reader then misses out on the finer points of the writing. Rather than the picture illustrating the story, the story describes the picture. I think words are more valuable than illustrations.

2. I don't describe my characters, I don't want their appearance so cut and dried, it might clash with the reader's ideas of what the character is like.

3. I'm not inclined to pay for a service that lessens my writing and shows no return on the investment. Authors do not get paid in currency to post here.

You have a talent for illustrating. As Mickie says, good luck on your endeavor.

KM -- Not to disagree with you, but not all stories are written they way yours are. Some people do put descriptions of the main characters in intimate detail. Me, for one. Pictures might help the reader enter into the scene of the story, but illustrations should fit the story if used. The cartoon aspect of DryInk's illustrations would fit those stories written in a more pornographic style, and not detract from the story at all. My stories would require something more sophisticated, but an illustration might enhance the imagery I try to portray. However, I would be extremely picky in choosing an illustration to avoid exactly what you mentioned. It would have to fit the mood of the story, and I prefer understated art. A picture of the Goddess of Winter standing in the forest in her ermine cape would be perfect for that story.

The appropriateness of an illustration really depends on the story, itself, and should be chosen with as much care as an author's uses to choose each word. Plus, if you're gonna pay for it, make sure it blends well with your work.

I can understand that Mickie. There are some stories here that would work well with illustrations, cartoonish or otherwise. Most of them that I've read, however, don't need illustration. Yours for example. You have a way of writing that leaves illustration unecessary.

Perhaps he could cut a deal with some of our authors who post on pay sites where they get paid per click? Of course that means that they'll lessen their profits.

Somehow, I don't see Dryink making much money from the authors around here. I wonder if he's contacted webmasters themselves?

New sample image

Wow! That's some indepth discussion you got going!
Anyway, here's another sample for you to debate about.
Anyone interested in having their stories illustrated can contact me at dryink@hotmail.com

There has been quite a good response so far, thanks.

As some of you might know, i've included pics with one of my stories. I'm pretty sure i'd not elect cartoonish illustrations however, if only because my subject is already taken to be something that "real people" don't do, you know? Anything i write, any illustrations i include, therefore, have to serve as validation of the story - not be something that would enable people to smile indulgently and reassure themselves that THAT kinda stuff is only done in cartoons.

The cartoons are of good quality but, to parrot KM and Mick, selling these illustrations, however well-done, is likely to be difficult at Literotica, a free site, where we authors aren't paid for our words.

And Dryink? Indepth discussion is what we do here in this forum. We're a community; Literotica is not a money-making venture for us.

Thanks for participating

Thank you to everyone who has responded to my offer to illustrate stories. There was a rather unanimous request for more realism and I think we have achieved it. I can still take more orders at this time if you'd like to participate.
Thanks again to everyone at literotica!
