do those stats take into account that it's a crime just to be carrying or found to have a gun in your possession without a licence? licences tend to be few and far between, though farmers usually have a shotgun licence if they have large livestock.
Well damn. If the government would simply make it illegal to own a gun this wouldn't be a problem, would it?
As usual the liberal Bizarro World ass backwards illogical narrative falls apart, but they don't care. It's all unicorns and rainbows.
Yes, the report states clearly that it ignores simple possession charges.
That's a lot of gun crime for a country that has outlawed them.
Guess gun control really doesn't work as well as some people claim.

in a city of nearly nine million people those numbers seem fairly insignificant.
especially when you read the blurb at the bottom that says they counted incidents where a gun was "threatened but not seen".
That chart includes the boroughs, closer to 20 million.
guns here are most often used as a threat and not fired - they depend on the victims being scared that they might be. they get used to threaten cashiers/tellers, hold up post offices threaten the till operator in off licences (liquor stores?)... sometimes they are used for murder/atempted murder, drive-by pt shots, crimes involving shot animals - oh, and drug deals/gang-related shit
