Abandoned pleasure cruise (sci-fi horror )

I have a soft spot for stories where where people come across an abandoned ship, or at least one where the people it served are gone. Stories like Leviathan where the cult had died and the ai was continuing to kill and regrow the people that were going to be the cult's serfs, or magnetic rose where a derelict ship is the final resting place of a diva but is also a death trap that may be haunted. On the erotic side, there's a XXXenophile chapter where a guy finds a colony ship whose cargo is female clones...actually, that might be a different matter all together, I just like that one.

Anywho, I thought it would be fun if there was a story about either a scrapping team or researchers who go into a sector of space that travelers tend to avoid due to disturbances that can mess with navigation and other systems. While there, their ship falls prey to the disturbances and they deploy an sos. They can't reach outside of the sector with their communications or engines. Suddenly, they receive a response from a ship. The crew's suspicious since hailer appears off in some way (perfectly symmetrical face or some such). However, they don't have many options and accept.

To their surprise, the ship is a cruise liner that doesn't have any registry though it claims to have initially been launched decades earlier as a pleasure cruise that catered to "special guests" the crew is welcomed by the "captain" who is an automated ai or a biological android. The exhausted crew goes to bed and wakes up the next morning being tended to by gorgeous women. Turns out the ship is a celebration of hedonism with every type of pleasure you could imagine. While the crew is reluctant, they each give in in their own way.

However, things get increasingly strange. There's no human crew. The staff seem to be androids but they're too natural too ...organic. The crew also keeps pressing the crews limits and try to press more serious kinks and fetishes on the stranded crew. Also the cruise ship pulls deeper into the sector, leaving their ship behind. The ai gives a cover story but other clues start emerging and it becomes clear something much darker has happened and will likely happen again if they don't get off the ship soon.

I actually really like this concept and would love to hear some more of your thoughts on the set up. I think I could write one of these if I could get past the launching step which is admittedly for me a HUGE step.

Thanks.

Let's see: In this case, the ship was created by a rich cabal that wanted a place to enjoy pleasures in privacy. However, they've grown jaded so their president starts suggesting more extreme perversions...which is where the crew comes in. They aren't androids. They're made of an organic material which lets them appear and act as almost perfect clones of whoever the passengers want.

For example, lets say you want to fuck a celebrity or maybe one of these guys has a niece or daughter and they have no qualms about lusting for them. It would be too much trouble to make advances on them where they might get caught...but few strands of hair, a couple brain scans...and presto! A perfect facsimile to fuck.

However, that's not enough for the guests. They make plans to make PERFECT copies...and not in terms of making sure tattoos are on them or they have moles in the right place

(Warning: Shit's about to get fucked up if this were to ever be written, it should probably just be hinted at in logs ala System Shock 2)

They want them to resist and act like the people they are copying if they suddenly found themselves being assaulted. This keeps up while the AI is altered from just focusing on running the ship to producing new entertainments for the increasingly sicker guests. The head of the group wants to keep haivng people praise his brilliance and depravity and to not leave...which the AI makes its top priority.

So one day, a guest is attacking one of the crew when he strangles it to "death." While he's at first horrified...the AI comforts him by simply pointing out it can recycle the material and spawn a new companion. It then suggests that it will take care of any crew that is killed, so none of the guests should worry.

So the guests start making their fantasy lovers...and then hunt them down and murder them....then have the ship make more to hunt. A few of the guests decide to leave and the ship seems to allow them...though they then change their minds and rejoin the depravity.

The leader of teh group starts to lose his stomach as the ship offers more possibilities to the crew ("This evening please bring your attendant to the dining room where our chef will cook and prepare them in a sauce of your choice while their screams delight your refined ears") and threatens to turn the AI off. The guests then have a new pleasure as they kill their leader at dinner, not knowing that a crew member is in his place. The computer then suggests they fuck and kill clones of each other...promising to keep track of who is who. It slowly eliminates anyone who can shut it down, capturing anyone tries to leave and sending them to a special room where it tortures them to death through pleasure, trying to find what the limits of human pleasure is, removing their ability to go into shock and ramping up the guests kinks to nightmarish degrees (one of them's a masochist...yeah)

In the end, only one guest escapes but can't reveal what went on. Instead, he traps the ship by launching satellites that are broadcasting a software update that the Ai would have to accept (it would set the AI to its basic program or even forcing it to destroy the ship. It's safe in the sector due to the disturbances but its last totally human occupant has managed to escape by willing him/herself to die. To keep pursuing its primary goal, it needs to get new guests.

...which is when the crew gets involved.

The ship has two goals with them. Continuing its research into human pleasure...and manipulating their computer expert into altering his programming so it won't have to accept the update and can leave the sector. The Ship's crew has becomes divided, with the ones that were created by the guests having split off from the ship's group...they just want to engage in sexual play, though they are the end product of many of the guests' desires so they are utterly demented. The ones under the AI meanwhile attempt to replace the crew members who learn too much or cause trouble, or seduce the expert. The head of the research team has to try to keep their team alive and might have to make a deal with the AI if they want to survive.

As for the general idea: There's a number of ship alternatives. Maybe it's really just a pleasure ship...but it's starting to break down so it doesn't know its normal program of touring a solar system will get everyone killed (a stars gone super nova but the ship decides to stay with its normal course ). Maybe it's actually of extraterrestrial design so they can study/breed/capture humans.

I read a comic somewhere that was pretty shockingly similar to that set up. In fact the main twist was that somehow a real woman, related to someone in there somehow snuck into the facility and ended up killing all the patrons essentially because the synths were designed to feel pain and struggle, even "fight back" but they were unable to kill. So the woman racks up a couple kills just rolling in with a weapon and someone going "Oh, hey sara give me the knife I'm just gonna carve this bitch up.

That is DAMN good set up, I'm actually curious why you don't just write it, you've clearly got the imagination and appear to have the talent.

I don't know. I just have trouble writing stories unless I do it in one sitting. For example, the two stories I produced in the past were done after continuously writing them, only taking breaks to eat and sleep...I also didn't have a full time job. If I write things bit by bit (not counting RPs since my brain registers a post as a completed work), I just lose interest or at least, my imagination gets bored having to keep returning to the same story and will just spit up a new idea on me.

For example, after coming up with this idea, I immediately started thinking of a multi-part series about a guy who makes sex-toys for super-heroes and villains.

Ah. Well that's at least a reason that makes sense to be honest. My problem isn't so much that I lose interest is it is I just work on so many different things and if I can't get one part right I tend to let it sit while I try something else and once it gets off say my top ten to do list it eventually just falls off entirely. Basically on Microsoft word if it's not one of the files on the tab it means I forgot it existed and who knows when the next time is I'll see it.

When I wrote fanfiction that happened a lot. I actually feel bad since occasionally my e-mail will get a ding from someone wondering when I will finish a fic I haven't updated since 2007 sine I left the main character in a situation where I couldn't figure how he would get out of it I left him in and after trying a few dozen ways and then erasing them, I let it sit on my hard drive and then forgot about it...and then got embarrassed about the fact I never continued it...which made me just put it off more.

I know that feeling brother, all too well. I made it a rule not to do fanfics before I figured out the end. I've still got a few floating around my various hard drives. Every so often I consolidate them. I really need to remember to make a new batch of flash drives and/or CDs soon since I always make sure that a few friends and family have them so if somethign catches fire ro gets stolen there is always someone else out there with it.

What was it a fanfic of if you don't mind me asking?

And I get dings all the time most of them from here my fan fic (at least the one I can still find) doesn't get much attention.

I can't be specific since there haven't been enough of the crossover I did so my username (which I use on a couple of other sites) would pop right up. Essentially, there was a trend in 2006-2007 where the main character, who normally gets raised by an anonymous "teacher" before entering the mein plot of their series, would instead get raised by someone else...usually another anime but there were ones where he would get raised by Batman or something more mundane. Then the plot of the main series would continue, seeing how the new upbringing would affect the plot.

Since a lot of the fics just made the MC overpowered...I decided to have fun with it by making them a vampire from another series...which made them as physically weak as their original portrayal if not weaker during the day.

It's not particularly good but I do have to admire how I used to just go after an idea no matter how stupid it was. Though oddly enough, I did unintentionaly create a meta-reason (as to why I've failed to update anything) in another fic I failed to finish...where a character finds my avatar and gets hold of my "notebook" (essentially a representation of what allows an author to express him or herself) turning her into a god. The fic was never finished so from one standpoint it could be seen that without it, I couldn't write anymore.
