I am going to try to write in a very subdued manner...

...in odd circumstances I have just lost all my emails and my bookmarks to places unknown.

Any idea where I can find them?

(btw: I am working very hard at not ranting and shouting)

Okay, take a breath..in and hold it, out and in ....tell us what happened. Don't do anything rash in the meantime.

Reinstalled CloneCD and boom - my thunderbird and firebird reset. All emails gone, all acounts wiped, bookmarks invisible...

Have you looked around in your Recycling Bin?

*shuts up, for she knows very little of the inner workings of her computer*

I saw the Roy Lichtenstein exhibition the other day.

If you have XP then it should be easy peasy to roll back. If not and you're talking about internet explorer then I'm pretty sure that there is a method for returning to a previous version in that too. Otherwise there should still be a folder somewhere with all those things still in just not being pointed at.

If it were me I'd fanny about in DOS to see what I could find.

Weird. Afaik, thunderbird stores all that info in it's local program folder, to prevent things like this from happening. But looking at my own installation it seems like that is not the case anymore. But it's hard to seach for a deleted file, if you don't know what it's called or where it's been.

Methinks you need a geek.

I'll pretend they didn't disappear. If I get no angry mail, like "Why the F**K don't you reply to my mails? I'm leaving you!" I'll assume all's well that ends well...

...and yes, weird.
