i've written before about my white trash neighbors in the rowhouse next door, the ones with the junkie daughter who thinks she's spiderwoman. they also have 3 dogs which they've never taken for a walk, they simply open the back door and allow the 3 to do their business in their tiny backyard. they also never pick up said dog mess, once every three months or so they rake it into the huge mound of droppings beside their back porch.

this afternoon i went into the bathroom which is on the other side of the building from their house. the window was open and there was an indescribable sickening odor coming in. it smelled like what i imagine a slaughterhouse on fire must smell like. i ran downstairs and out of the back door, there was a pillar of smoke coming from the neighbor's yard. i climbed up and looked over the fence...they were grilling meat on the grill that has set outside all winter....about two feet away from the pyramid of dog poop. the mound is almost as tall as the grill and the grill must never ever have been cleaned in any way because it didn't smell like charcoal smoke, for sure.
