A year has passed...

since our Gabrielle was born. I watch her mother sleeping now so peacefully and think back to the past year and to this day. It was a time of joy as well as sorrow.

We had her with us here for only a brief moment of time, but what she left us will stay with us forever. To read back over the past threads, the joy shared, the name thread, how she brought so many people together made me cry and smile.

Today, on her first birthday I would like for you to share with Vana and I a celebration of life. There is still sorrow and pain at her leaving, that is undeniable,but there is a beauty in the light that she brought to us. Think about who is your light, your strength, your beauty. Give someone you love a hug just for being whom they are.

I hold her in my heart, she shares my name and my soul. She is the gift, the most beautiful gift I couldn't keep. She is my light, the one that reminds me that there is always love around me and strength I fail to see. I see that in her mother, I see her in her mother...and it is so beautiful.

I miss you my angel.

Gabrielle was such a light, she really shone in her short time with us. She was a wonderful gift and I thank God for her. I remember her fondly, she'll always have a little space in my heart and in this day, the celebration of my own daughters birthday.
