A World Untamed...

Kitt

With Brendan's howl still ringing in her ears, the arrival of the two new commers, the dark woods that seemed to be closing in all around her, Kitt was more than a little shakey, she was on the verge of pure panic. Looking to the canopy, she searched for an exit, but there was none.

Shadow

Turning away from the others for a second, I look at Kitt, "Is something wrong? You don't look very good." She looked like she was about to have a panic attack or something. I was just hoping that nothing serious was wrong with her. We were going to need to find Brendan's sister soon.

Kitt

Kitt didn't answer, looking to the trees in the direction her heart told her she was to travel. She didn't need anyone's sister to help her find trouble, she had always been pretty darn good at finding it for herself, or more to the case, it found her. Without a word, she headed off through the trees towards the cause of the worlds imbalance, and the open spaces that lay beyond the tree line.

OOC; sorry for the wait. I've been AFK

IC; "WARK (hi. my name's Cryo. it's nice to meet you Gaia)Wakarue"

"Work (what brings you here, sneeking up on us?) Workuru" her accent was a little off, but it was still understandable.
"Wakarue! WARK (I left my home forest to protect it. Let people know about me and chase me instead of my bretheran. Somehow along the way, something bad has been happening in this world I can't totaly ignore. on top of that, I recently felt a strange... calling, callign me somewhere to do something. I'm going to go see what.) WARK"

Drusilla was silent as she observed the conversation between Shadow and Lokken. She ran a hand through her hair gratful for the shadows of the trees. She felt a bit stronger and less faint now that she was out of the sun. Finally she spoke up "you know why we are here but we have yet to know why you are here" her eyes sparked with an inner fire and met and held Shadows.

Gaia

I heard far off in the distance, the call of my name. For I wasn't commander of the forest, only the protector, I took that upon myself. It seemed the forest respected me, and something, in the forest I knew all too well, was amiss. The forest that I had lived in for many eons...had seen it changed, and seen it grow.

I heard my name again.
It sounded oddly familiar. But if I wasn't in the forest, the echoes and words spoken in it were just a murmur.

"I am pleased to make your acquantance. But I must go, something disturbing called me out here, but I cannot go on, there is darkness in my forest, I have to find it."

The chokobo nodded in the direction of the forest. "You know where they are." I said.
My face stern.

Bear once again snarled and transformed into the looming beast. Grabbing hold, I hurtled my body around his back. The spirit beast would take me faster than my earth magic.

The bird took off. Leaning forward, my fingers intertwining in the rough fir, the Spirit bear ran and with flashes of light sporadically, we skimmed through the forest as if nothing was there to stop us.

Once in the forest, I could feel the presence of my brother.

ooc: Ok Cryo, I've gotten complaints about a Chocobo, Im sorry to tell you it isnt working out.

Figure out somthing FANTASY, That will actually work, THAT ISNT A RIPOFF.

Thank you....

ic:

*Falkner Galloped after her, supplys slung behind him, he hadnt gotten this feeling in a loooooong time, and when it came, he knew bad shyt was up, so he Rode hard after her, his head lowered close to the horse, some people called him the elven Human, because he was almost as druidic as some elves..*

Kitt

Kitt hadn't gone twenty paces when she realized she was bring unreasonable, letting her emotions get the better of her. She knew better, and she knew how to controll it, she just had to get a grip. Taking a deep breath, she returned to Shadow's side, all the time fighing for controll of her senses.

Shadow

Taking notice of Kitt returning to the groups side, my attention turned over to Drusilla as she asked what brought us here. "Although I don't know the full story just yet, this 'alliance' between us started when I saw Brendan over there," I take a moment to point over at the man watching over us, "talking with a Chocobo named Cryo. As odd as that may sound, the thing was actualy able to talk and seemed fairly intelligent. Kitt here joined the scene when she thought Brendan was trying to capture Cryo, but things were cleared up soon enough."

Taking a moment to try and find the right words to explain the next part, I continued, "It was at that time that the four of us felt this... force... like a calling. I'm not sure what the story is there, but we came here to try and find Brendan's sister since she might have helped. Obviously, she isn't around at the moment."

Finishing explaining things to them the best that I knew how, my attention turned to Brendan, "Hey, laughing boy, what do you think we should do now? Your sister isn't here, and we're wasting a lot of time waiting for her to arrive." The guy seemed nice enough, but his 'ninja boy' crack from before had gotten on my nerves.

Flynnarrel

"I didn't mean that quickly." He called after the two galloping forms, one on a white steed, one on a black. He saw a grey stabled in a nearby stall. Leaving a few hundred farthings on the hay he saddled the creature quickly.

Once mounted he rode after the other two with much speed and gusto.

Sabaka woke up in a start. His head dashed around frantically for some explanation of what he had seen. There was none though, he could have sworn that...
No, no just a dream. They were all dreams. He had to stop trying to see if they made sense. All they were were silly dreams his own head created.
So, why had they been right about the towns?
Why did they tell him of Rockingham two years before he met the man?
Why did they keep haunting him night after night.
He looked up at the late afternoon's sky. The sun would be down in less than two hours. They haunted him in the day too now, he supposed. He got up, and shook the dream lightly from his body. In all his years he had never been able to entirely forget a dream, but with a little perserverane, he was able to ignore them, for the time being that is.
In an instant, he was off the wagon. Inside there was some dried jerky and small canteens of water. The perfect something for a light dinner. They had to make some miles ahead of them before dark. Speaking of which, where has he gone off to?
Sabaka looked outside, a nearby stream held the sound of splashing water. Odd, the water didn't look big enough to make that splashing. Then he heard Rockingham's voice. He walked over, wanting a closer look.
There, in the middle of a small pool, with nothing but his underwear on, Rockingham was playing with a small bear cub. Sabaka's jaw dropped, he couldn't believe it. The small cub was having the gayest of times (yeah, I said it, and we all know in what context I used it, so save the small fart jokes for the general board and read on). Actually playing with a small brown bear cub. Rockingham splashed the little furball, and he splashed back, unaware of the danger of the risk he was putting himself in.
Sabaka unsheathed his sword, eying the forest carefully. He didn't care much for bear cubs, they were about as harmless as a rabbit, but mothers were extremely jealous. Anyone who lived out in the woods knew this. You see a bear cub, you run, no matter what. Sabaka couldln't leave Rocky behind, but he couldn't exactly do anything about the situation. A dilly of a pickle, was it not.
Then he saw the mother.
She was lying down at the south edge of the field. Slumped over a small patch of wildgrass. One look and Sabaka knew she was dead. No life left in her. Walking over, he could see the countless number of arrows in her side and back. He grabbed one of the arrows. Poorly made, like an amateur or a kid had made them. He wondered if maybe a group of kids ha come out here drunk a few nights ago and played pin the tail on the bear.
Looks like they won.
Sabaka looked back at the sub. The poor thing must be starving, he quickly knelt beside it and gave it some of the jerky. The bear sniffed it inquisitively, and then licked it inside it's small but powerful jaws. A few crunches, and no more. It looked hungrier still.
With a sigh, Sabaka nodded to Rockingham.
"We're leaving."
"What about Sara?"
Sabaka looked at Rocky, puzzled. As if in response, he points to the cub. Sabaka rolled his eyes solemnly.
"Put her in the back, and feed her as well."
Rocky jumped up, already getting dressed. The bear looked at them both in silent confusion. Sabaka couldn't hold back a slight smile as he walked back to the wagon. It seems they have added another member to the journey.
Sara

Rocky walked over to the wagon, Sara at his side. Sara seemed very smart for a bear, at least she seemed smart to him. He wasn't exactly a genius or anything, but he knew a few things in life. These few things helped him get by, and also made life so much more fun. He had fun all the time, especially when he beat Sara at the water fight. She didn't stand a chance, with those scrawny forepaws.
She did get him with the cannonball though. Rocky let her go inside the wagon first. He followed, and called out that it was ok for Sabaka to start going. Sara first spotted Rockingham off in the distance, came running up and >>BAM<< he was soaked. He had to get her back for that, to prove how good he was. No one bested Rocky in a water fight.
He searched the bags and sacks and things for food. There were tons of dried meats, but he wanted something a little more nutritious for a growing bear. Something like...
"Ahhh, fresh liver."
A whole sack full of it. He portioned some out to Sara, who gobbled it up greedily. The poor thing mustn't have eaten in days. No wonder she wanted a water fight, she needed some attention. Rocky hugged her as she ate, well guess what, she had a mommy now. Rocky took a brush from his sachel and began combing Sara's black fur. He got out all of the little ugly things that had aquainted themselves on her fur, and made it nice and soft and shiny and pretty. She looked like the cutest bear in the whole woods. She licked his face. He smiled, and hugged the bear again.
"Thats what mothers are for," he held the mirror back so that she could see. Sara must have liked it, she gave out a sound that seemed very happy. He wasn't sure if she was or not, but he thought she looked nice.
Sara then laid down in the corner of the wagon. She gave out a big yawn. Rocky nodded.
"I'm sleepy too."
He dropped down next to the cub, and rested his head on her body. She wasn't small for cub size, about half the size of Rockingham himself. It was almost an injustice to call it a cub, but Rockingham didn't have a name for a halfcub half grownup bear. Shaking his head, obviously confused in the matter, he went to sleep. The gentle rocking of the wagon soon allowed the bear to close her eyes as well.

Riak Du'Sharadan

" I don't know where I am to go Durgann only that I am to go. " Riak said to the gruff dwarf who stood arms crossed in front off him.

" How are you to find what it is you seek when you know neither what t is or where it is? " Durgann replied, "There is no logic in ye quest boy. You endevor after a fools journey."

" Mayhap it is a fools journey. " Riak said, " But tis my mistake to make if it dost be that. 12 years have I lived beneith the mountains with you and your kin Durgann. I thank you for all you have done for me but I know in my heart that I must go."

Durgann shook his head and let out a deep sigh.

" Like talkin to the mountain it is. " he said, " If ye need to go then go boy. Tis always a play here benieth me mountain for ye though. Just put off this fool hearted quest till the mornig so preperations may be made. I'll not see ye goin out into this cruel time unprepared me boy. "

That being said Durgann left the room which had been Riak's since Durgann had brought him here after an Orc raiding party had destroyed his village and killed his family. Twelve long years had Riak spent with the dwarves in their undercity learning of their ways. He had become a master blacksmith surpassed by one amongst the dwarves Durgan himself. He had been trained in the use of Axes and warhammers and the like for dwarves didn't use swords or bows.

His long life under the mountains had built Riak into a mountain of muscles and his 6'3" height made him stand out greatly amongst the smaller dwarves while his broud shoulders and rippling muscles made him stand out amongst humans. He had believed for a long time that he would never truely belong anywhere but he felt at home here it was the only place he had ever really called home.

He laid upon the bed which had been specially constructed for him when he had grown to big for the dwarven beds which were commonplace within the undercity. He remembered the feeling he had felt earlier that day a calling that struck at the very fabirc of his being and pulled him twards something unknown, but he knew he must go. His eyes closed and he drifted off into a dream of 12 years prior as he watched helplessly as his family was slaughtered. He would never be helpless again he would never again watch those he cared about fall because he was unable to help. NEVER AGAIN!

************************************************************

Durgann made his way down a long dark tunnel and slipped into a side corridor which held a secret door only he knew of. He searched out the door and clicked it open slipping in and quickly pulling it shut behind him. The room was dark and filled with a musty old smell. He searched through the dark for a torch which he quickly lit. Then when the torch had been lit he saw what he had come for. A larged chest sat against a long wall oppisite the hidden door. He went to the chest and took a long key which he wore on a mithral chain around his neck.

He slid the key into the lock and it clicked open. Within the chest was a Mithral Great Axe and an odd shaped pendent. He smiled as he looked at the axe which he had forged fifteen years ago for Riak's father and the pendent of Valorn which had been Riak's mother's. Two snakes tails entertwined with a small blue stone in the center it was. Twas said to hold some great power if the person wearing the pendent called upon it. He took up the items and left the room returning to his own soon the boy would be gone and the halls would be all the more empty without him, but Durgann had known for a long time this day would come and he had dreaded it every day.
************************************************************

Riak stood at the mouth of the great corridor that led to the undercity of Quenthadal home of the dwarves and his own home for twelve years. He heard someone approaching him so he turned to see Durgan coming up the corridor with an axe strapped to his back.

" So do you plan to accompany me on this journey ? " Riak asked, " or is the axe to take off my legs so that I may not leave this place. "

" My adventuring days have long passed and would take more than a lack of legs to keep ye here Riak I know that now." Durgan said, " The axe was ye father's now it is yer own and this was your mother's holds a great power it does."

He handed the pendent out to the large human, and took the axe from his back and handed it to him as well. Riak looked at the axe with a sheen of tears over his midnight blue eyes.

" Now none of that boy tears are reserved for women and children and neither are ye." Durgan said.

Riak took the gruff little dwarf in a great bear hug which lifted him from the ground. The dwarf sniffled and wiped tears from his own eyes.

" Now look what ye've don ya made a woman of me with tears now be gone with ye on your fools quest." Durgan said not as gruffly as he had intended, " There be a clearin in the wood a few hundred yards down the mountain there ye will find a horse and supplies enough to keep ye over till you reach a town. Also there is a small fortune in gold boy use it well."

That being said Durgan turned and walked back down the corridor and dissapeared from Riak's sight. Riak turned and made his way down the mountain to the clearing and for the firsat time in his life he was trule alone. Back at the mouth of the cave Durgan had returned and stood watching the boy leave of the horse. He again wiped a sheen of tears from his dark eyes.

" G'by me son." Durgan said then once again returned to the undercity also for the first time in twelve years alone.

Kitt

Kitt found it impossible to pay attention to the people around her, perhaps it was her dragon’s heart, perhaps it was her different senses, but as the chill breeze sifted through the trees it was like she could feel the pain of the world, feel it crying out in agony without release. The sensation was intense, painfully intense, and she felt her mind being wedged open to thoughts that were not her own.

As she listened, she could hear the agonizing screams of relentless pain, the torture of a thousand souls. Through her minds eye she could see the need, the pain, and fear. Where there should have been the sweet mercy of death, there was none, only endless agony and perpetual insanity. She closed her mind after only a glimpse, fearing the insanity would take a grip on her yet young mind.

Saying nothing, she found a soft place to sit and wait for the others to be ready to move on, though how they were to return death to the world she had no clue. Pulling her knees to her chest, she drifted in her thoughts. There was something she learned before she grew wings, something about a legend, something……..She closed her eyes and drifted, seeking out the memories.

*Blows his horn*

Drusilla's eyes widened slightly at his mention of a call. Could he have felt it as well? Deciding to trust him she said "We to felt a call and were heading towards the town hoping for some answers. Do you have any idea who might have sent it out?"

Brendan:

"Laughing boy?" Brendan muttered to himself. "We wait for my sister... She knows I'm here... I called out for her. Just chill there a little ye pasty faced shadow stalker!" Brendan shot back as he hopped off the alter.
"I havn't a clue what that was earlier but it definatly wasn't good, and if anyone has any idea what it was, that would be my sister, she's attuned to all this mystical crap anyway..." Looking over at Kitt. "Whats up with you? You look like you ate some bad meat or something..." After he had howled he had kinda lost interest in his surroundings for a moment or two, he always did that after a good howl though.

Robert Sith:

"You try my patience..." Robert hissed as he stopped and stared back at death as he sat there Impassively. "No? Well then, lets give you a little incentive here..." he hissed bitterly, barely containing his anger. He called forth a teaming mass of undead that he had risen from graves many nights ago in preperation for this moment. They trudged into the room all ripped and gangrenous flesh and putrid stench. Robert Intoned his instructions to them. "Leave the tower my children, and when you come upon any living creature's, DESTORY THEM! Do not stop no matter what!" They stired as his instructions sunk into their rotting brains. With growls and moans, the undead turned, leaving to carry out his instructions. turning back to stare at Death, Robert held his sleave to his nose. "Tell me, how long will you let this go on? Will you truly allow the universal order of things to decay in your absence rather than give me such a small boon in comparison?!" Death continued to sit in silence.

Kitt

Kitt looked up at brenden, her face the mirror image of the pain she could feel surging through the world.

"It's death."

She turned her head, loking to the canopy, hoping to see a glimps of blue sky, but the was none.

"Hey, you wouldn't mind if we joined you, would you?" asked the overeager Lokken.

OOC: Roland, me have question. When were people claiming villains, cause I have the usual one.(You know, Fuge)

Shadow

Looking over at Lokken in responce to his question, I answered, "Wouldn't bother me none if you two were to join the three of us. Could use the help if HIS sister ever gets here."

I had motioned over towards Brendan when saying 'his' during that last sentence. Not that they wouldn't know who I was refering to in the first place, just that I started to feel tired of awaiting the womans return. We must have a wasted at least a good one hour or two trying to find this person that was supposed to help us out.

Turning over to look at Kitt, I inquired, "Did you just say something about 'death'? What do you mean, Kitt?"

This whole god damn place was starting to go crazy lately. Talking Chocobo's, a guy that howls like a fucking animal, and now something about 'death' being involved? Yep, I should have stayed in that broken down old barn for another night or two.

OOC:Humble apologies

OOC: Sorry, Rolland, but I'm going to have to drop this thread. Just can't seem to get into it, and I really need to cut back a bit on the number of threads I'm involved with.
Thanks anyway,
Neale

ooc:" It's ok Neale.
I understand..
I'll work it out..

To morgoth, I went to them Personally, I needed people who could RPG Them without being beyond lame. No offence of course.

Drusilla glanced at Lokken when he asked to join them. She was surprised at his eagerness but decided not to second guess him. She looked back to Shadow "Yes I think it would be a good idea to join you, maybe we could all figure this out with or without that man's sister"
