A World Untamed...

Flynnarrel

Fangorn watched the man bolt off. "What game is he up to now?" Stepped into the street to pursue, he could make it before the wagon coming his way would be upon him. Just before he started a spirited dash he reeled from the impact of some force, some calling, a compulsion that sang in the forefront of his mind. Through the stunned haze he saw the wagon rear up and the driver propelled frontwards.

When his mind cleared the bard rushed to the man's side. By that fall he's lucky to even be breathing. Fangorn readies his lute and calls to mind the warm, sweet, Song of Healing. If he's made it this far there might be a chance.

His tune swirled about the man, probing, pumuping, checking, hoping. Fongorn stopped, again stunned. He wasn't dying. Blood flowed freely, taking consiousness, strength, even stopping his heart. But he wasn't dying. His mind reeled in the pain of his wounds but the final release would not come.

Fangorn looked to the heavens. By the Gods, this was not good.

He took off in the direction the man had run, it seemed like the right way to go. The feather in his hat bounced agitatedly.

OOC: do I have it right that no one can die with Death being captured?

Gaia

(sigh, I give up on making my own threads..sorry for the late start...this is one of my char....hospital stuff again...ARGH)

Gaia stepped out of the forest, HER Forest, on the edge of town, light on her bare feet, they touched the cooling earthen path. Her wild maple brown hair hung wildly around her face, braids intertwined. A regal crown of flowers and plants encircled in her hair and wove themselves around her arms...a band here, an ivy plant there. In her eyes, no whiteness was found, only the solid color of the great brown bear. It was odd, her almond shaped eyes were really the only thing that set her apart from the humans, besides the whole totemic mage thing. Her totem pole was her staff. A great bear carved intricately into the aged wood. Her skin dark from the care-free sun, at her side was a small bear cub. She smiled. She couldn't intimidate the villagers with her massive bear friend, so she gave him a smaller size.

At an age far greater than the world can tell, her looks were youthful. Aged only to about twenty, her figure was unmatched by many. 5'11", she was a sight to see, some say she was from the Amazon, some say she was a kin to a hybrid giant, some....say she is evil.

But her earthen magic and with the command of the spirit bear, she really was nothing evil. Though her temper was nasty, like mother nature herself. She knew every plant in that forest, the shape of the thorns, the source of their survival. She was the queen of the forest. Maybe aa learned mage, but something of fae in her blood. For the forest listened to her and became her home, her only companion her trusted spirit bear. Her lean figure was adapt to living in the wild. She wasn't an unbroken animal, she was learned, and well versed. Apt in the language of mages.

Her costume a simple white linen. The sarong to cover her shapely thighs, and a one shouldered, tight fitting top, the blazing whitness was a huge contrast to her darkened skin.

She made her way down the path, and into the town. For knowledge in the forest told her of a great mage or someone of magic nearby. She didn't like to leave the magic of the forest, for the maidens and the elves, the sprites, as well as the plants kept her company and in good spirits. A light dusting of radiating green had trailed behind her in the forest and abruptly left her as she stepped into civilization.

Her button nose wrinkled....her tall staff firmly at her side. She was into the village. She wasn't paying nearly enough attention, the cub at her side whom she affectionately called Bear was distracting her, being playful in its state of youth.

I felt the bears of the forest within it, their liveliness and grumpiness aparent. I heard Bear cry a cry of happiness. I made it into town. Fear was around. Much fear. Too much fear. So the call I had recieved earlier wasn't just my imagination, for my imagination did have a tendancy to run away. I wanted to go home, it was only a few feet back...but the call...was wild, like my instinct...

tag: ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kitt

Kitt watched the bird fly off, calling for it to wait, trying to make some sense out of all that was transpiring. There was a wrongness in the air, a sense danger, imbalance. Everything in life had a balance, an order, and something had happened to upset that balance. As a rule she stayed away from conflict, away from trouble, but she knew there would come a time when the universe would find a way to test her worthiness, and this might just be that time.

Looking to the two men who also stared after Cryo, it was obvious they felt the disturbance she did. The direction was clear, but the nature of it was not.

“I feel the need to fly. Should either of you gentleman like a lift, I would be more than happy to carry you on my back.”

OOC: With Death held captive, no one can die, though the laws of the phyisical body are still in effect. If you get an arm lopped off, it still hurts, and if the bleeding is not staunched you can fall into a coma...

Brendan:

"Whatever dragon lady, I just need to find my sister! She will know better than any of us what is going on I think. She's attuned to these sorta things... I think..." Brendan said with a little annoyance. "I have to get this wine to her too!" He added.

Kitt

"If you don't mind, i would like to accompany you to talk with your sister. If she has knowlage of this shifting in the balance, then i would hear of it."

Brendan:

"Sure, come right along, she was preparing one of her fancy shmancy ritual the last I knew..." Brendan returned to walking into the woods, toward his sisters holy grove.

Kitt

As kitt moved to follow him into the trees, she was torn for a moment, looking at the bird and Shadow, wondering what direction was the right one.

Shadow

Watching as Kitt and Brendan were talking about going to see his sister, she turned back in wonder of which way to go. Speaking up, I made the suggestion, "We should all go with you to visit your sister if she could help in any way. Then we could continue on our way afterwards."

With that, I started to follow the two of them while motioning for Cryo to follow us. The faster we got this over with, the sooner we could get going to the real problem at hand.

"Wakarue! (I'm sorry, but I must follow the call. We shall meet again, and when we do, I hope it is on Better grounds) WARK" With that, Cryo flew off, not being stopped this time.

He flew quite a distance, trying to find the source if the strange call. He wasn't exactly descreet about his travels either. At one point, he passed over a lake, scaring some boaters into jumping into the water. he flew over a couple of bandits who hijacked a supply wagon. Thinking that a rare black chocobo would be pretty valuable, Dead or alive, they tried to shoot him down. But Cryo was a little bit too nimble for them. Eventually he came to a town where he encountered an amazon with a pet bear cub. She was constantly looking towared and away a nearby forest, but it wasn't the indicision that drew Cryo's attention.
Cryo's purpose in this world is to protect his homeland, the chocobo forest. Something about this amazon reminded him of his magically protected grove, so he landed nearby and made a greeting.

Shadow

After the Chocobo flew off to answer the call, I turn back to the others and nod, "Shall we get going?" With that, Brendan led the way to his sisters where we would hope to find some answers to what was going on.

Kitt

Kitt thought the birg a little ungratefull, she had tried to save it from capture after all, even if she had been wrong. She was glad however that Shadow had chosen to come along as well. There was something about this man she quite liked, which was unusual for her.

As they followed, the foliage became thicker and the tree canopy almost blocked the sky completly from view. Kitt had never been anywhere that the sky was not freely accessable to her, and she became a little afraid, hoping the others would not notice. The uneasy feeling within her grew more intense.

Shadow

As the three of us made our way through the thick foliage that was all around, I took notice that Kitt seemed somewhat uneasy here. A part of me wanted to to ask her if she would rather stay behind for now, but I knew better then to take her efforts for granted. Placing a friendly hand on her shoulder, I asked Brendan, "How much farther till we reach your sisters?" The sooner we get through with this, the better I think Kitt would be.

Sabaka stopped the wagon right beside the next dead body. The arrow still stuck straight from his chest. Rockingham scooped him up, and placed him inside the wagon. It was odd, but Sabaka could swear he saw the man's eyes flutter. Must have been his imagination though. He looked ahead, someone was helping one of the other dead men. He ran away at the sight of him though. Sabaka had to admit that even though this life wasn't exactly the best, it did have some advantages. He galloped up to the next body and waited for Rocky to grab him as well.
When all of them were in place, he gathered up the two horses. They would fetch a nice price, especially from a particularly hungry village. All in all, he hadn't gotten such a bad day's earnings.
Sabaka whipped the horses, driving them deep into the forest. He made sure to follow one of the safest paths, now that he had such a big load, he couldn't be too careful. Although, he wasn't too bothered by rogues or thieves anymore. Indeed, he might be considered the best of them all. However, you would never hear those words uttered from his lips.
Stopping in a nice meadow that ran alongside a brook, he jumped from the seat. Rockingham had already begun placing the dead bodies on the ground, side by side. He couldn't have a whole bunch of dead bodies on his hands. He searched the bodies, a small sack of gold was found on each.
One was still alive, no wait. He looked closer, placing his ear up to their chests. They were all still alive. The arrow in one's chest lifted and fell as he breathed. How could that be possible? They must have had some magic placed on them before they left. It would make perfect sense.
No matter.
Sabaka took out the wand. It's lime green head sparkled in the mid afternoon sun. He placed it on each of their heads, and recited a small incantation. A few minutes later the wounds healed, the bruises disappeared and each of them stood up, looking very confused and bewildered.
The one still had an arrow in his chest. Rockingham pulled it out at once.
Sabaka held a loaded crossbow up to the closest one.
"I don't give many people a second chance..."
With that, they all ran in indiscrete directions. He gave a slight smile as they crawled over pricker brambles, jumped through the creak, and did everything in their power to leave the presence of him.
When they were gone, Sabaka climbed up to the top of the wagon and sprawled out. A good day's work deserved a good day's nap. He called out for Rocky to stand guard as he went to sleep. After all, one could never be too careful in the forest.

Rocky watched the men run off. He waved solemnly, sad to see them go. They never got to stay after Sabaka brang them back to life. He could never hurt a creature that he knew he couldn't bring back to life. He was kinda funny like that, Rocky knew that he couldn't honestly hurt a fly, but he would kill one if he had the power to bring him back.
Odd what little quirks some people had. Rocky could take acocunt in that though, he had hundreds of little quirks. At least he think he did, maybe he was just the only normal person on the planet. Everyone else had little quirks. He couldn't tell for sure, but then again he couldn't not tell for sure either.
Rocky looked up at Sabaka as he lay down on the wagon roof.
"I will do my best," he called back. The crossbow was still armed and he picked it up, walking back and forth in front of the wagon. He looked at certain plants and shrubs, making sure they stayed where they were, and didn't move a muscle. Then, he roamed around the entire small meadow, stopping for a drink in the small stream every know and then. The sun began to beat down upon him, and he didn't want to take any of the supplies yet. He wasn't quite sure what Sabaka was going to do with them. In any case, he ended up just drinking from the stream.
As the day got hotter, he kept circling the stream more and more. Soon, he took off his boots and rolled up his pants. His feet played in the cool water. The crossbow lay forgotten by his boots. In the end, his shirt and most of his clothes followed suit. He was in his knickers swimming around the small pool of the stream. It wasn't extremely deep, but did cool him off from the hot day. He would glance around for danger only occasionally, but it became more and more like a nusance than a chore.
He swam in content's delight. Nothing like the life of Rockingham. Filled with fun and play... speaking of play. Rocky swam ashore and grabbed the doll from his satchel. It looked dirty, and needed a bath. He was the only person to take care of it, so he had to make sure it was at least clean.

Gaia

(rolland, I put an ooc in the ooc thread. And I am assuming that the sister you refer to is me? Ravenloft? sigh...confooselated....just confused.)

When I was out of the forest I felt out of control, I was jumpy and utterly on edge.

When I heard the wind of the air shift, Bear sensed my mood change and immediatly shifted into a snarling 8 foot bear that he is. I whipped around, touching the spirit beast gently, the touch not even necessary. I saw one of the mystical birds.
I felt something a matter in my forest. I had to check. Soon.

"Greetings. I am Gaia." I smiled. My humble bear quickly changing to the lovable playful cub and began swatting at a bee.

The bird may have not known who I was, or my status in the forest, but that is because I sometimes am known as a myth, so be it. It may come to my advantage. "What is your purpose, do you know it not wise to sneak up on a spirit bear, for he thinks not."

Small flowers began to spring up in the spot I stood. Roses and brightly colored sprigs of grass.

My touch had urged them to grow, without my knowledge.

I began to speak to the bird in its native tounge, finding it easier for I and the bird.

Brendan:

"Keep your pants on ninja boy!" Brendan blurted at shadow as he stopped. He turned and looked around. "See? We're here..." Looking around a little more he shouted. "Gaia! SIS! I brought the wine sis! Come on! Are you hiding in one of the fucking trees again?! JESUS! Don't you get enough BEAUTY sleep as it is!?" He began to rant as he marched about the holy grove. The ritual's alter was all set up but his sister nowhere to be found. "NOT EVEN A FUCKING NOTE! GREAT! THIS IS JUUUUUST GREAT!" Brendan shouted in annoyance. He looked up at the two with him. "she ALWAYS does this! Sends me off to do some piddly ass errand then wanders off to do something else... GOD! It makes me sooooo angry that I could just... Could just... *HOWL!*" Brendan lifted his head toward the forests canopy and let out an ear peircing howl as his muscles flexed with the over exagerated action.

"Okay, let's fly, though. It should save us some time", said Lokken. He lifted up, and Drusilla did too. They both flew off at an extremely high speed and came out of the forest where Brendan, Shadow and the others were. Lokken nearly collided with Shadow, but stopped himself just in time. "Hi. Sorry about almost hitting you", he apologized sheepishly. "My name is Lokken. This Drusilla. May I ask of your names?" he asked.

Flynnarrel

Running, panting, and all this bouncing is not good for the strings.

Fangorn runs headlong into the most unpleasant end of a large black stallion. The horse nary stirs as the bard bounces on to the cobblestones. He looks up to see the same large man he had followed from the inn sitting bareback upon the horse. The warriess was also mounting. Both looked him in silent, questioning annoyance.

"Hi." he began springing from the ground and brushing dirt off. "I'm Fangorn, Fangorn Flynnarrel. And unless I miss my guess you felt that something is terribly wrong somewhere in that direction." he points towards the forest where he felt the call from. He talked rapidly. "I just want to say that it's worse than that. The entire heartbeat of the world is skipping erratically." The man just gazed at him and the dark elf looked as if she were assessing the number of different ways she could kill him from horseback.

"We outta move quickly." he stated, waiting for their reply. He hoped it wasn't a swift boot to the face.

Shadow

Brendan raised his head into the air and let out that piercing howl while the muscles on his body began to flex out. The howl was almost to much for us to deal with since we were so close to him at the moment. Holding my hands over my ears till it finally came to an end, the howl ended just as the new arrivals came onto the sceen. Stepping infront of Kitt in a somewhat protective way, barely flinching from the near impact of the two.

"Hi. Sorry about hitting you," the man began to apologize immediatly, "My name is Lokken. This is Drusilla. May I ask of your names?"

Being cautious of them, I introduced the three of us, "The name's, Shadow. This is Brendan, and that lovely young lady is Kitt. We're here to see his sister, but apparantly she isn't around at the moment."

Looking over them both, there was something about the two that made me trust them slightly more at the time. Couldn't put my finger on what it was exactly, but there was something there alright.

Wanting to know what they were doing out here in the first place, I asked, "And what, may I ask, brings you two so far out into these woods?"

Sage

Nodding she grabbed her packs slinging them over Timothy and then swung her leg over the white stallion. The look in Falkner's eyes surprised her, she glanced around then kicked her heels. Timothy nayed then galloped out of the barn.

"We're just traveling. I used to live peacefully in a vilage, but then I met Drusilla. Ever since me and her have been traveling together, my noble cousin, Fuge, has been sending out troops to kill me. There's been hundreds of the bastards, all armed to the teeth! He's sent Dragonmancers and the like, even. Only way we survived through the Dragonmancers was because Lord Wrathlance, second only to Lucifer, was looking for vengeabce upon the Angel that killed his future wife. We've been extremely cautious ever since and have made sure to stick to the deepest part of the woods. It's so much safer", explained Lokken cheerfully.

Brendan:

Rubbing at his lips with the back of his wrist, Brendan snuffled. "God, that felt good..." He muttered to himself. He walked over to the wooden alter and hopped up onto it, setting there, kicking his legs slowly as he let the others chatter on about... Well, whatever they were talking about, he had been too busy enjoying his howl...

Robert Sith:

"How long are you going to let this go on Celeste? All this pain... All this suffering... Its all on your head, you have the means to end it all right now and be about your merry way... Why do you wait? Promising me such a small thing as immortality seems far less of a crime than letting millions of people suffer on past the hour of their chosen time..." Robert said slowly. "Its really such a little thing... Compared to what is happening at this very moment... In the end, whats more important? Really..."
