I really don't know what got into me. I went over to my folks house for Sunday dinner. My sister and her boyfriend were there, visiting from Dallas, and everyone was a chatter. My father was roasting a leg of pork, stuffed artichokes, wild rice... a lovely meal.

I asked them if they would be insulted if I left and came home. My mother asked if I needed a nap. I said no, I just wanted to be alone and quiet. I feel kind of sad. I don't know why.

He's right riff. When I was six I insisted that my folks take a boat trip from Cavalier and, being mean ,my mum booked us on the cheapest and shortest. It was to the Iles de Levant. and we ended up in a nudist colony. I was too young to appreciate it but I know my dad's white arse got sun-burned and he couldn't sit for ages and that I collected some sea uchins and put them on a chair in a cafe and some man sat on them , bare arsed!!
