Actually, depressingly, there is EVERYTHING American about that. It's our M.O.
Don't get me wrong, I would rather live here than anywhere else. But I'm not blind to the fact that America's history is one long series of intimidating people into doing things the way the ruling minority wants them done. And when that doesn't work, we resort to violence. Even the most *white*washed versions of history can attest to that.
