came into my work last week. He is 8 weeks old and 16#. We all took turns passing the little guy around, he was quite the feisty lil beast. I held him twice, the first time he snuggled into my arm and was purring like crazy. The second time he was a little bit uncooperative *snicker*, but licked my face before I put him down  . It was definately an unforgetable moment.

That's incredible. I'd love to hold a white bengal tiger or any tiger for that matter.

Why was it in your work place?

Cute little guy/gal... but you do know you're not allowed to have relationships with animals on Lit ;)

She works in a vets office.

Very cool honey, I love those pics. I wish you could have recorded the "roar". :D

That is the part that fits in so well with the AH... :nana:
I think we should nominate her for "Official Keeper Of The Lit Zoo". Any seconds? :)

From what I have read, tigers originated in the high plains of Asia. The northern tigers sre white with brown stripes or light brown. The Bengal tiger is a latecomer and it is the color it is, because it blends in well with the jungle backgound. Thus, it is not really a surprise to see a white Bengal tiger, which is just a reversion to the northern original.

 Oh! Oh! Oh! TOOOOO cute and too fierce! :catroar: You show them little tiger!

Does he have a name?

And just look at those paws. I think, even for a tiger, he's gonna be a very big boy.

Beeyootiful animule! What a sweetheart he is.

They are so darn cute when they're young.

Hard to believe one day he'll be capable of killing and eating an ox. ;)

Or maybe he'll do Vegas! :D

You should hear the roar . . . it's the funniest thing ever. He was not a very happy kitty while the doctor was messing with him (but he was quite the happy one when all the ladies were cuddling him :D ).

Where he'll eat a gay nightclub entertainer.

These just scream for captions. :D

She's in bed for the night (bad headache and lots of stress), but I'll ask her tomorrow. She really needs to tell the whole story, it's really cute (especially how they actually got to care for the cub).

I scratched him behind his lil ears. . .he liked it as long as his paws were on the ground. ;) He even came up to one of the girls I work with and nuzzled on her neck. :D

Every single one of my cats has liked to have his ears twirled or lightly pulled. I think it's because they have all, to a cat, had ear mites at one time or other in their lives and the memory of how their ears itched is so vivid that they just like to have their ears scratched.

It's very true with dogs as well. If you have a dog you're meeting for the first time, softly stroking the tips of his/her ears is a great way to make a good impression. The trick is to go really slowly, because it's easy to alarm them (I I wouldn't want to alarm Dakota either  ). I've never been a fan of cats, mostly because of their finicky nature. Every cat person I know says that their cat is the exception to the rule, but so many react differently to everything that you never know what they'll like or dislike (and someone around here can attest to the fact that you should be careful around them naked  ).

So cute. I'd love to have one, but you can never, ever trust them totally.

But somehow, Kiten, with a Bengal kitten, seems like fate.

Maybe when he grows up, he'll eat your ex. :D

Several years ago I made a trip to our vets office to pick up the Coggins papers on our horses, and was greeting by the sight of a six-month-old tiger on a leash playing on the lawn.

I was captivated, and the owner/handler allowed me to play with him for a few minutes, and scratch/pet him long enough to get that deep, rumbling purr going. He was a lot bigger than the one in your pics, and I remember being struck by the realization that this animal was going to be HUGE when he was full grown.

Wonderful experience, and one I'll never forget. Not many get to pet a tiger. :)

We have a zoo up here in the city (Lincoln Park) that has the lion display set up really cool. There is the viewing from the front, with the fence & moat, but there is also a side view through thick glass which the lion often slept against. You get a whole different appreciation for how big they are when you're inches away from them (it made me nervous even through the glass). Their roar is astonishing, we walked in the front gate and heard him going, and I'm sure it carried for a mile in every direction (probably would have been longer if it wasn't in the city). They are magnificent animals.

Soon after I moved to Florida I heard about a guy out west of us who had several Big Cats. I was intrigued. I drove out to visit him.

I sat down and talked with him for at least an hour. I told him how I had raised a Big Cat of my own for a while. (Bobcat) He listened then allowed me to accompany him out to his runs. There he introduced me to his cats.

Talk about an absolute blast. I got to meet five different cats and interact with them.

And people wonder why I am called Cat and why I have a Panther tattooed on my shoulder.
