Halloween has always resonated with me; I've always looked upon it as a holiday in which every human being screams in unison "I am not you." It's the holiday when the ego celebrates its own power and glory, or at least should be.
Think about it for a moment; the whole year through, we repress our egos in an attempt to live peacefully in a society full of people whom we are each, ultimately, different from. That's a great deal of compromise. Shouldn't we have one day, just one day, each year were we can brag, criticize, and indulge? For me, Halloween is the perfect day for this.
On Halloween, how are you going to celebrate yourself?
