While visiting my girlfriend in the Philippines, I met a friend of hers, let's call her S., another transgender woman from her hometown. When my girlfriend had her beauty salon in Makati, she employed her friend as a nail technician. That ended when she lost her lease on the space that she rented for the salon.

Since then S. had been working as a hooker in Angeles City but that ended as well when she was diagnosed with HIV. She has been taking treatments regularly and has been trying to take care of her health in light of her condition.

She is currently working as a cam girl on a porn chat website. This allows her to stay home yet make ends meet. It's not a path to easy money, that's for sure. She always has to be ready to put on a show.

Based on her history, one might think she is a good time party girl. I thought so too until I met her and saw what a serious thoughtful person she is. Maybe confronting death changed her, I don't know. I have been thinking about her since I met her. She has been dealt a bad hand but she is still trying to make the best of it.

Very true. Some well known transgender women like author Janet Mock had to do sex work for a while. Thank goodness, S. has some friends looking out for her.

Sorry to hear about your friend. The trans women I have had relationships with are hard working and love their families. Unfortunately one of them feels a cismale wanting anal sex is gross.
