So for you people who dosnt know what the Discworld is. Its a world whitch sits on 4 Elephents and there on top of a Giant Turtel which swims thru space. Its allso a seris of books and I thought ited be good to do a roleplay about It. So if ya know the books and you can be a caracter from the book or a made up one of your own and you can have two caracters ok. Mine are Rincewind and Death.

Ridcully

If this thread takes off, I'd like to play Ridcully, the head of the Wizard's Guild.

I think I would like to play death's grand daughtor though for the life of me I can't remember her name... can you help me out?

Her name was Susan wasn't it?

I'll take Carrot if this is Ankh specific....otherwise you'll have to give me time to remember another character!

yep

Any questions anyone has, just ask. If I don't know it off the top of my head, I can readily find out. Not that I'm a HUGE Pratchett fan, or anything... ;) Or that I have everything I could find on my bookshelf...

Neale, I have every single Discworld book :)

Actually come to think about it i'll be Commander Samuel Vimes...i think his cynicism would suit me just nicely!

But wait, there's more!

Would you happen to have the two GURPS Discworld RPG supplements?

LOL

I don't either, but I am SO tempted... If the thread takes off, I just might break down and pick them up... It would certainly make my local game shop happy!

Hey! I have no problem with temptation!

I yield immediately

ok then I will be Susan :) I'm not as fanatical as you two seem to be but I have ready alot of Pratchett's books. If this takes off it should be a very good thread :)

What's happened to spike18. Propose a good idea and then just run off like that....tch tch tch

Hmm...

No reason we can't start it for him, if he doesn't show back up!

btw: he may have no idea that the thread has gotten any responses. There was a long time between his initial post, and my response, and more time before any of the others.

Oh, and to make it a little simpler, considering the fact that we have a Mr. Vimes, I think I'll be Captain Carrot instead of Ridcully. It would be easier if our characters knew each other to begin with. Ridcully is fun, but hard to use...

If only some lovely lady would consent to play Constable Aggua, his werewolf girlfriend. (forgotten how to spell her name, and I'm too lazy to go fetch a book).

I'm conflicted. My favorite characters are the witches but I'm not ready to roleplay a female yet. Another favorite would be CMOT Dibbler, but I don't think he would interact well with the characters on the city watch. Albert? No, that would be too limiting. Corporal Nobbs? Now that would be fun. Ol' Nobby is an interesting one. A bit too scruffy for me right now, though. Besides, there are enough volunteers for guards already. AHA! Ponder Stibbons! Not much written about him yet, so there's room for improvisation. Also, it would be cool to have Hex to play around with. Yes, Ponder Stibbons it is.
Now, I'm kind of new at this (read complete virgin). What's next?

Friend Gentle

This thread never began... However! There is an active Discworld thread which has just started, called Discworld. Please join us there, an ye will...

First, apologies to Spike, I hadn't realised someone else was thinking of starting a thread based on Discworld. However, I see no reason why a second thread wouldn't conflict with the one I started, it would give us opportunity to play different roles from Terry Pratchetts excellent book (I've just finished Thief of Time, his latest. Brilliant as usual!)

Gentle, you're welcome to join, anyone who is a fan of Discworld is all right by me! If you're looking for some Ponder material to read, try the 'Science of Discworld' book, lots of Hex in there (yes, I said Hex, not... ahem...)

For the current story, the saddlebags on the horse are empty, though it appears there were something in them, a handful of various seeds are scattered at the bottom. Lucky some Ankh-Morporkian didn't grab the horse and all. Honestly, you can't leave something hanging around in Ankh-Morpork... or tied, chained, glued, or otherwise restrained, I guess it would be fair to say.
