He could never really explain what it was but there was always somethiung about end of year exams that relieved him. Maybe it was the final release of pressure, the fact that after all the lectures it was finally over. Maybe it was the satisfaction of knowing he had made a difference, maybe some small part of him enjoyed seeing the looks of those that didn't quite make it.
James Stephens had been teaching for over 15 years and if there was one thing he'd learned it was how to pick them, the ones that entered his class without doing their research, the ones that from day one he knew would fail.
Over the past 10months he had done what he could for her but by now he knew she wasn't going to pass.
