Hello!

This may seem like a silly question, but I need help!

I have been trying to shave my pussy, but keep chickening out! Anyone got a foolproof way of defuzzing without causing major bodily harm?!

The best way is to get someone to help you. If you have a lover or hubby who can do that for you,it sure helps. I,myself, use an electric women's shaver. Hubby still likes to help though! :D

Get one of those dealies that they show on TV... um... its the one that they show and have Jewel's song playing... lol that's not helpful.

I'm a guy but I use it since I work out - I'm 100% hair free and I use it on my legs - it has its own soap around the razor and it helps.

That's a good advice since we men know how to shave.
:) ;) :)

I just wanted to say that there is no such thing as a silly question, just silly answers. Especially here on these boards.

Afraid of razors? Try waxing.

And if the thought of yanking all of your pubes out in one stroke makes you wince, try burning off the hair with a blow torch. Sorry, but those are your choices.

No reason to be fearful. Certainly if you have some one who is available to help, that is terrific. If not (or if you are planning a surprise), then find a time when you have some privacy and take your time. Go slowly. Being rushed will only cause potential for pain in the way of nicks and cuts. Use a very sharp razor. (I personally perfer Schick Sensor - the men's version) I also use a shaving gel, as it just seems to work better for me. However, soap will also work.

Start with one small area at a time. Use short strokes, and don't press down overly hard. I shave against the growth, rather than with it. As you get used to shaving, you find you can go much more quickly.

After care is just as important as the actual shaving. I have found that a gel containing 99% pure Aloe Vera works wonderfully for me. It soothes any razor burns, keeps any annoying red spots at bay, and just feels nice. Plus, because it is natural, I don't have to be concerned about fragrances or other allergens. And the gel absorbs quickly, leaving me soft and smooth.

Waxing is good, but be certain you research salons. Some only do a bikini wax, others may do a Brazilian or something in between.

You'll find some women here fans of shaving, some are fans of waxing, and there are one or two who prefer tweezing. Hopefully, they will join in on advice!

Thank you all for your advice.

Carrie-on - yes it is a surprise. Maybe he'll help next time, if he likes it!!

I don't think anyone sells Magic in the UK, plus my skin is extremely sensitive, so I think I'll give that one a miss.

Thanks Wicked Eyes, I bought an Intuition razor and have used it on other body parts and found it fantastic. So, I think I'll give that a go...

And thanks SexyChele, I will certainly get the Aloe Vera out!!

just a thought.... you might want to consider trimming first (if you dont already) with a pair of scissors. It makes the shaving process go a bit faster when you get down to it.

The other hard thing was the regrowth phase. It ITCHES, and it took a lot of self-control to keep from pawing at myself in public!!

You know.....if you really get in a bad way, let me know.
I'll meet you somewhere and take care of that itch for you. ;)

*just teasin' of course . . . . cuz I see you're a HAPPILY MARRIED woman*

I saw this commercial for the first time today. It was from Venus I believe, and was a razorless razor. It came in a kit with a hair removal cream. Supposedly it stays smooth longer than shaving also. I've used hair removal creams before, but might have to give this one a try. Mainly because the guy tied up the chic, blindfolded her, and "shaved" her legs with it. Looked like fun to me.

But whatever one does, it grows again anyway :(
I simply hate when it starts itching...

Shaving..

ok - not really reading the above suggestions - but here's what works for me..

When i first started I'd trim with scissors first... I'd suggest using hot water in the tub & sitting - and make it as hot as you can, the heat will open your pores and it won't be so hard to get a clean shave. I use a Venus Razor --- it works for me - go with the grain first - from outside in - not top to bottom first - the reverse. as for the hidden area - trust me - it works better if you know what is down there - don't be shy in any form.. lol - if u take offense fr that - not meaning to - but use a mirror if need be - get a cheap dollar store one and place it between your knees - it works better sitting down - all this while the hot water is slowly draining out of the tub.

~ IMPORTANT: DO NOT SHAVE RIGHT AWAY WHEN IT STARTS GROWING IN - you will regret it - wait a few days - 3- more like 4 at least - depending on the speed of growth.. -- you need growth there not stubble at next shave.

Trust me as time goes along - it gets easier.. btw - use a good soap - I use dove babysoap - it works well with moisturizor. == but to each their own.

I recommend mosturing the area after you have shaved. I used a very light (1%) Steriod cream. Feels nice too :)

I love being shaved, it makes me even more horny (if thats possible) :D

haha, me, too! :)

Like a few of the other ladies, i use the Venus razor, too. Afterwards I use Lubriderm lotion on the shaved area. it helps minimize irritation.

I have found that the Intuition razor is too large and unwieldy to get to the more delicate spots.

I prefer using some hair conditioner in place of shaving cream, it really softens that area up, and cuts down on the razor burn.
I also use Bikini Zone right after I get out of the shower or some Hempz lotion. With the new Venus razor. Or if you can find it, Noxzema makes an itty bitty razor specifically for the bikini area, but I haven't been able to find them around here for a bit.

I've found in the past that disposable razors work somewhat well, as long as they are the mens ones with at least 2 blades (look into the shick ones, they're not very long across).

The last few months I've been using the venus to shave. It's a little more difficult and you have to be a little more careful, but it does the best job out of any razor that I've ever used.

As far as itching when it grows back in, you get used to it after awhile and it's not noticeable. But just a warning, if you put lotion on after you shave, make sure there is no lanolin in it..... it will burn like there's no tomorrow.

I think I saw someone mention magic somewhere above me. If you find it and decide to use it, DO A TEST PATCH FIRST!!!!!! Cymbidia, dont think she posts here anymore, didnt do that, and walked away with some pretty nasty burns down there.

No itching solution

I get itch-free, burn-free results with electric hair clippers. If you don't use the length guides, you can get a really close shave. Look for one that is for hair on one side and beards on the other (the blade rotates and the beard side is good for tighter spots). You could also get just a beard trimmer.

If you do decide to go for the gusto with the razor, the cortisone cream from the drugstore works really well to keep down the itch. If it gets really bad, you might want to also use a topical anesthetic cream like Lanacaine (the stuff for itchy bug bites-ask the pharmacist). Just don't use the anesthetic before sex!

I just tried some stuff called Coochy Cream, as an alternative to shaving cream or the conditioner that I normally use, man that stuff is great! I give it 5 stars!

From this guy's view, shaved is the best. Your man will love it, especially if he's into oral. What's your opinion on guys that shave their cocks?

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I just got through with the Remington, and my cods feel as smooth and silky as you please. No burn or anything.

If you're in the US, Wal-Mart (or The Lesser Satan, as I call them - Microsoft being The Greater Satan) sells a AA battery powered Remington Microscreen that is great. Only drawback is that you'll only get about 4-5 shaves before the batteries die.

But to the original poster, I can say definitely do it! I just shaved for the first time about 2 weeks ago, and I don't see myself ever stopping. And if you use an electric, don't worry about the stubble. It's not a bad thing to have a vibrating shaver on your genitals every couple of days...
