I am a reader. I don't know where I can put this message. I'll start a new one here. I have a pet peeve about story series'. Everyone seems to be skirting around the issue and making the database very complex.
When I click on a story series, I still have no idea how to be sure the series is complete. Here is my suggestion. If it throws everyone off the track, SO BE IT.

I think it is up to the author to indicate if his or her story series is finished , or unfinished. This can be done in a very simple way. Set up the database so that the author is required to indicate a complete or incomplete series at the time of submission. A simple box for each choice. If the author does not click on the choices the author will not be able to submit the story. All authors will be sent in a blanket message that this requirement must be complied with. If the choice boxes are not filled in, the author's story will be listed as incomplete.
When the choice boxes are clicked upon, an obvious notification will be placed in the submissions page in an obvious way. Maybe a large font and red letters could be used. COMPLETE or INCOMPLETE.
Right now the reader, the person that actually reads the stories, has had the responsibility and the daunting task of figuring out if a story is complete or incomplete. I believe all the stuff that your I.T. people are setting up is overworking the solution, and avoiding the authors' responsibility. Why should I be forced to jump through so many hoops? I think it is time for the reader to be given a chance. I have so many times read a series and found out that after reading several installments that the story has not been finished. I realize that an author writes a story as a volunteer. Still, the reader, ALSO a volunteer, needs to be considered. The writing of a few installments in a series and stopping and not completing the story has turned me off, and caused me to be very gun shy. I have almost stopped reading the longer stories. And I don't get much out of a single short story. I want to to read something with length and substance.
A deadline can also be set for the authors that have been longer than a year or two in writing further installments. If the author will not be able to finish the story, then maybe the story and its readers would be better served if the story would be pulled off the Literotica listings entirely. Or the story could be offered to be completed by another author. IF the original author wishes not to have his/her story completed by another author, then the author has the choice to not click on the complete or incomplete choices and the story would be removed from the Literotica listings.
That's what I had to say. All the fancy things I have been reading as solutions to this problem is overkill and again unfair to the readers.

Thank you,

Chuck, that's why I always read the ending first.

Has the OP looked up the meaning of "installment"? I think that's relevant in a series problem such as this.

Personally, I would have clicked the "contact us" option when all else fails in relevant forums of this website.
